Story
Hershey's owner came forward and decided to surrender him to our care after he was found wandering the streets for several days. He was skin and bones and his fur was very sparse. He is a chocolate lab, Red Doberman mix! We named him Hershey 🤎 We took him to the vet and learned a few things. Unfortunately, ❤️‍🩹He is heartworm + However, 🙏🏼 he is negative for Lyme and Erlichia (thank goodness) He is missing a lot of teeth! The vet believes it’s a result of malnutrition as a puppy. He doesn’t think all his teefers ever broke the surface!! -POOR GUY!He is starting his heart worm journey with us with a full belly, lots of love and attention, and a super comfy bed. He is the sweetest, most gentle soul. We are looking for a foster-to-adopt home where he can comfortably heal outside the shelter environment, while he gets his treatments. If you think this boy could stay with you, PLEASE let us know. He loves people, kiddos, and other dogs. He does not like cats, unfortunately.Thank you for taking the time to look at our precious "pound puppies" If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at 730-272-1071. We would love to help connect you with your new best friend.

Story
**Oh, Daisy Mae... ❤️**Some dogs spend their whole lives loving one family, believing they're home forever.Daisy Mae did. When she came to us as a stray, we scanned her for a microchip, hoping it would be a happy reunion. Instead, we learned something that broke our hearts. Her owner had gotten a puppy. And Daisy Mae was no longer wanted.Imagine giving your heart to a family for nearly a decade, only to be replaced. The good news?Daisy Mae hasn't let that define her.At around **9 years old**, she still has plenty of pep in her step. Her hips and knees seem to be in great shape, she enjoys life's simple pleasures, and she greets each day with a gentle optimism that only dogs seem capable of.She's wonderful with kids, gets along well with other dogs, and has the kind of calm, loving personality that makes a house instantly feel more like home.Daisy Mae isn't asking for much. She doesn't need endless adventures or fancy toys. She just wants what every dog deserves—a family who sees her gray whiskers as a badge of honor, not a reason to replace her. A family who understands that senior dogs don't love any less... if anything, they love even harder.Let's make sure the next home Daisy Mae knows is the last one she'll ever need.Because this sweet girl deserves a retirement filled with cozy beds, belly rubs, pup cups, and people who will love her for the rest of her days. She spent nine years being loyal. Now it's our turn to be loyal to her. 🖤🐾Thank you for taking the time to look at our precious "pound puppies" If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at 730-272-1071. We would love to help connect you with your new best friend.

Story
Hi, my name is Chance and I'm about 1-1/2 years old.  I was rescued by Bond County Humane Society (BCHS) from Bond County Animal Control.  Me and another Labradoodle were running at large for a week and were taken in by Bond County Animal Control.  After spending the required 7 days at Animal Control we were released to BCHS.  I was severely matted when I arrived and was taken to a local groomer where I had to be shaved.  The groomer said I tolerated the shaving very well.  I am super friendly and playful.  I enjoy going for walks on leash.  I am very playful and like to play with any toy.  I love being with people and will be satisfied to sit next to you and be petted.  I am good with other dogs. I play with other dogs at the shelter and get along with all of them.  I don't know if I'm housetrained.   I am available for immediate adoption.  I am neutered, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm tested, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $300.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.June 26, 2026, 4:51 pm

Story
Tucker is a sweet boy and full of energy. His owner is my niece, and she is moving and can't take him with her. She has had him since he was a puppy. I am fostering him until I can find him a good home. He was an inside dog till about 3 years ago. He has been outside with his companion since. He has never been on a chain. He has been in a fenced in yard. They had a privacy fence. I have a chain link which he climbs sometimes but has never run off and is always willing to go back in with his buddy. He likes to be around people and loves the water. I have small dogs and can't keep him. He would be great in a country setting and with someone who would devote attention to him.
