Story
Floyd lived his first four years in a kennel too small for him, barely ever getting out of it. He's learning how to be loved in his foster home, and has come such a long way. He's a Lab& Great Dane mix who is 4.5 years old now. There's still a road ahead of dedication and training that he'll need, so we're searching for the right family that will be able to give him just that kind of love. Floyd is treat motivated, so he's responsive to training; but, does need to eat and drink separate from others. He LOVES to play and run, and is a super toy chewer dog! His foster family is slowly getting to cuddle with him. It's all new to him so patience, understanding and love is the key to this fellow's heart. As are all EARS dogs, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and currently receiving monthly prevention for flea/tick and heartworm. If you're the right family for Floyd, please submit an adoption application via our website, www.effinghamanimalrescue.com.

Story
Meet Finn! This adorable boy was pulled from the euthanasia list from a neighboring animal control at the last minute. Finn was found with his brother Ollie as a stray. It is very clear that the brothers had never been socialized. They are so timid and quite literally afraid of their own shadows. They would cower and run to their crates at the first sign anyone was paying attention to them. Each went to a different foster home with other dogs and cats. They are making tremendous strides in their progress! While Finn is still very timid of loud noises and fast movements, he is a CUDDLE BUG! He easily attaches to people he feels safe with and will come looking for pets as he paws at you for attention. Finn is gaining confidence with the resident dogs in his foster home as he learns all about proper house manners and just how to basically be a dog. He loves to play tug with them. He gets along well with the cats and pretty much ignores them. He does great with children and is oh so very gentle. He is crate trained and working on potty training. He just needs to gain a little confidence and he will make a wonderful family dog! Just look at his sweet and gentle face. This is the type of boy to make friends with a passing butterfly. He’s a stop and the smell roses kind of dog.As are all EARS dogs, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and currently on preventative for flea/tick and heartworms. If you'd like to add Finn to your family, please submit an adoption application via our website, www.effinghamanimalrescue.com.

Story
Dolly is a sweetheart of a lab mix. She is very gentle when you first meet her. She just loves people and loves attention. She gets very excited and will paw at you letting you know she wants to play and wants her belly rubbed. She listens very well, and is eager to please so we feel she would catch on quickly with training. We estimate her to be around 3 years old. She was found as a stray, so nothing is known about her past. Let's give her an amazing future full of love and belly rubs. If interested in meeting Dolly, please fill out our adoption application that can be found on our website at Effinghamcountyhumanesociety.org
