Patton is a Lab/Mastiff mix. She has the body style of a lab, but the facial coloring of a mastiff. We have recently had a cancer diagnosis in our family and the change to our schedule from treatments, side effects, and appointments has caused us to limit our "extras" in life.Patton is loving, protective, and still a bit playful. She is kennel trained and does well in a house setting. Story
MEET BUBBA — 3 YEARS OLD, LAB PYRENEES MIX  Some dogs walk into your life, and you can just feel how badly they want to belong. Bubba is one of them. This big, gentle boy came from Louisiana and was surrendered to the shelter with two other dogs when his owner could no longer afford to care for them. He didn’t understand why everything familiar disappeared overnight — he just knew he had to start over. A few weeks later, another rescue committed to taking him. Bubba was pulled from the shelter and was *so* eager to arrive at his temporary foster home in Louisiana… but at the very last minute, the foster backed out.  Return to the shelter? Start all over again? Instead, Bubba was taken to boarding — where he stayed for two long weeks. He was restless. He lost weight. He paced and cried for human companionship. For a dog like Bubba, “boarding” wasn’t a break… it was heartbreak.  Today, Bubba is finally safe, secure, and understood. He’s around 66 lbs right now and working his way back to his healthy weight of about 80 lbs — a big, loving Lab/Pyrenees boy with the sweetest soul.  Bubba is a shadow dog — the kind who follows you from room to room, grateful just to be near someone who cares. He doesn’t ask for much. Just kindness, consistency, and a family who won’t give up on him. Bubba has some teeth that are ground down, likely from chewing on something rough during a difficult period in his past. Dogs who are tied out sometimes chew to get off the chain. The good news: he has no pain, and he eats normally. It’s just a small reminder of what he’s overcome — and how ready he is for a better life. Bubba has tested positive for heartworm. He shows no symptoms of the infection and is currently on slow kill treatment. All necessary medications will be provided to the adopter, and additional details about his care will be shared once an application is submitted. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Adoption Criteria:  No crating — Use a baby gate if not home Fenced backyard required (no invisible fences)  Someone who is home more during the day  Children must be 7 years of age or older  Bubba is being fostered in South Bend, Indiana. His adoption fee is $395  Please put in an application on our website. www.indianasaveadog.com  ##2696542##

Story
We adopted Mariposa from lakeshore paws. She matched my son’s personality and energy perfectly. Shes house trained, but is a princess. Hates the cold and not a fan of the grass. She rather go on walks in any weather. It it’s wet, she will go hide and refuse to go out unless it’s a walk. Loves her walks and treats. Fairly quiet and only barks if someone’s walking up to the house.

Story
Lexi was found by a friend walking her own dogs in the woods. Lexi ran up friendly and ready for a family. My friend couldn’t have Lexi do to her lease and already have two big dogs, that friend asked if we would take her in. Lexi has been an amazing addition to our family now for over a 1 year. Due to medical circumstances, we are unable to afford her. Lexi is loving, fun, engaging and protective. She love to play catch and cuddle.

Story
Please read the entire description before applying. We have four female Purebred Golden Retriever puppies available for adoption, all born on February 14, 2026. The litter was originally twelve puppies, and when they reached eight weeks old, the breeder surrendered the remaining four to us that were not sold. We are sometimes asked to take in puppies who are eight weeks old or older from breeders who take deposits at birth. Most families reserve their puppies early, but occasionally a few remain unreserved by the time they reach eight weeks. When that happens, the breeder transfers those puppies to us to make room for their upcoming litters. These girls have the classic Golden Retriever temperament everyone loves — soft, submissive, and eager to please. They’re happiest when they’re close to their people, soaking up affection and following you around with their gentle, wiggly enthusiasm. We did not see the parents, but based on their current size, they are not going to be large goldens. Possibly 50-60lbs. We are not a shelter, which means that the puppies are cared for in foster homes.  Adoption Requirements A fencedin backyard is required (no invisible fences). If you live in a condo and do not have a fence due to HOA rules, we may approve leashwalking on a casebycase basis. An adult must be home more during the day to devote time to a puppy. Children in the household must be 8 years or older. Families with no dogs or one dog will be considered (no multiple-dog households). You agree to use a puppy pen, not a crate. Approved applicants will receive information on approved pens. Applicants must live in Indiana or neighboring states. We do not transport or ship puppies. Application Process Applications are not approved on a first-come, first-served basis. When we receive your application, and it appears to be a good fit, we will email you with the additional information we require. We will only hold your application for 24 hours while we wait for the requested information. Communication is essential; if we don't hear back from you, we will move on to the next application. Check your email a minimum of once per day once you fill out an application.  Once we receive all of the information we’ve requested, your application will move forward in the approval process. Once your application is approved, you will need to place a $50 deposot to reserve your puppy. If you attend your adoption appointment but choose not to adopt, your deposit will be refunded. Adoption Timeline Puppies will be available for adoption at 11 weeks old. No meet and greets will be conducted. Adoption day serves as your meet and greet/ adoption.  Adoption day will be May 9th in Crown Point, Indiana. Other days may be available. Reach out to us.  Adoption Fee is $500 Through our rescue’s partnership with MetLife, adopters receive a specialrate pet insurance quote during the Petstablished adoption process Puppy Health & Policy Puppies have been examined by our veterinarian. They are receiving regular deworming, age-appropriate vaccinations, flea and heartworm prevention, and will be microchipped before adoption. Puppies will not be spayed/neutered before adoption. Early spaying/neutering of Golden Retrievers can increase the risk of joint and hip issues. Adopters must sign a binding spay/neuter agreement and submit a $75 deposit refunded once proof of the procedure is provided within the timeframe in your adoption agreement.  Applicants must attend the adoption appointment in person, provide proof of ID, and sign an Adoption Contract stating they will not rehome the puppy. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL WITH QUESTIONS. Please put in your application at www.indianasaveadog.com.  ##2719643##
