Story
This long-legged lab-like good boy is Murphy! He is about two and a half years old and is neutered. He would be an all-star walking/jogging partner! He absolutely LOVES car rides so if you are someone who likes to take your dog with you on road trips, this guy is for you! Murphy is SO smart! He knows how to sit, shake with both paws, take treats nicely, and is learning how to stay and come. This boy will do anything for string cheese and is also excelling with making great eye contact! He is definitely a pup who is eager to please! And he loves attention. He will sit at your side and will wait patiently to be petted. He seeks out love and it is so sweet. The best way to Murphy's heart is yummy treats when meeting him! Murphy's ideal home would be one that is relatively quiet. He is loyal, protective, and people-oriented! He'd love for anyone in the home to be teenaged and older. We're still watching him during interactions with other dogs to see what he would feel most comfortable with. He seems to look best around very relaxed, easy-going pups. He also may just prefer to not have fursiblings, which is okay! His legs are so long and he can run so fast! Murphy would definitely benefit from having a fenced-in yard! He has been known to chase critters and sometimes bicycles down the road so the fence could help keep him safe but also let him have fun! He loves to play fetch, too! In his previous home, he did great with being house-trained and crate-trained. He loves tennis balls and tug ropes. Come meet and hopefully adopt Murphy! He makes us so happy to be around and will be the best best friend to a very lucky adopter.

Story
This big boy is Capone! He's a 5-year-old neutered goofball with the funniest personality. And he is such a love! Capone goes around to each person in the room asking for snuggles and back rubs. Not only is he social and interactive, but Capone is very smart! He knows how to sit, lay down, and shake with both paws! He's a treat-motivated dude but really is happiest to work for his tennis ball. He also was a perfect gentleman for his vet intake! His legs are so long that he'd be an awesome jogging partner. Capone loves to go for walks! If you're a hiker or someone who likes to be outside, we could see him always wanting to go wherever you go! Here at the shelter, he has done very well meeting new people! We want to make sure to set him up for success so it would be best for Capone to be inside the house when delivery drivers bring stuff to the home. He isn't too sure when it comes to them and feels safest with his family. His adopter will need to be extra committed to making sure he has access to vet care since he is positive for Lyme disease. We are treating him already but Capone will need vet visits to make sure his symptoms are managed. We mentioned that he is a big boy...his legs are so long! That doesn't stop him from believing he is a lap dog, so be prepared for big-boy cuddles! If your kiddos are respectful and sturdy, Capone has done very well with those types of kiddos. We'll update when we know more regarding what he thinks about furry friends. Adopt Capone!

Story
Mac was rescued from a neglectful situation. He has come a long way in foster care. He takes a minute to warm up to new people, but once he does, he is an absolute gem. He is a resilient pup who is happy playing or just snuggling. He enjoys fetch but doesn't always bring it back. Lol. His previous living situation made him fearful and nervous. He is getting more outgoing every day. Mac would appreciate a more quiet setting. Loud noises can still stress him out. He would do best with older kids. He loves his foster brothers and would probably love a playmate. He is potty and crate trained, although he prefers to be out and with his human. He is not a destructive boy and minds his manners. He loves a comfy dog bed or couch for chilling out.Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Guardians of the Green Mile Inc. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old. Story
Meet Harley. Harley is 7 years, 9 months old and 75 lbs. He is active, healthy , and submissive. He is a " Chilled Dog and a Gem" according to his foster.  He is a Chocolate Lab that was born and lived at a puppy mill. He came with a Fancy Pedigree and his AKC Registered name is Harley. He was the stud for most of the puppy litters at the mill. He was born on 11/14/2015.  Amazingly, he is the most social boy. He is very submissive and can be intimidated by little dogs. He will huddle in fear until the dog quits barking at him from afar. He is a gentle boy. He rides well in a car. Harley is being fostered in South Bend , Indiana He needs a secure fenced in back yard, no invisible fences. We also require a home where a primary adult is home during the day. . Because of  size and possible skittishness... children in the home should be 10 years of age or older.  He would do wonderful in a home with an active retired couple.  Harley has been neutered,  Is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  ##1789847##
