If you’re looking for a dog that is up for adventure, be that exploring the outdoors together or napping on the couch, he’s your man. If you’re looking for a dog that’s good with every person they meet, including kids, Charlie’s your man. If you’re looking for a dog that will bond quickly and that’s a smart pup who will pick up additional cues/commands with ease, well look no further!  This dog is a total package!  Charlie joined us in rescue and was in need of some TLC. He’d spent some time living in an outdoor kennel, and had a torn ACL in addition to Lyme disease. Charlie has gone through treatment, including surgery on his injured leg, and has come through with flying colors! He took surgery, cage rest and physical therapy like a champ and is now feeling better than ever and ready to get out and explore. Charlie is not a fan of being kenneled or left alone for long stretches, he had enough of that to last a lifetime so for this next chapter he’s looking to be someone’s full-time sidekick. Charlie is not a great match with other dogs or cats.  Charlie’s adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations, and monthly preventatives. I love to go out to the park and explore the fields and (my all time favorite), play in the water! I truly believe I was born to swim...I would swim all day if I was allowed to! I love to dive under to get rocks from the bottom of the creeks, and I love playing a good ole' game of fetch, too! I will retrieve anything you throw into the water! I am looking for a home with no kids or cats, however, I do get along with other dogs and enjoy their company! I would love a family who is very outdoorsy and adventurous just like me, and who has strong dog handling experience. I am a smart boy and I can't wait to show you everything that I know! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Juliette! She is looking for a forever home where she can have time to settle in and be herself. She is quite timid and will require a secure, fenced in back yard to run in. We don't know everything about Juliette's background but she is sensitive to having her collar touched and tends to drop to the ground if you go to grab her collar. Despite being a little shy, she is a very playful dog and would do well with another canine friend to live with. She gets along with other dogs of all sizes and plays very well with her 7 pound foster sibling. Juliette had not been cat tested so we are not sure how she would do in a home with other cats. She is potty trained and kennel trained. She loves her kennel and prefers to be in there when home alone because she is pretty anxious. Juliette does have some minor resource guarding and does not like if other dogs get near her food bowl so it is best to separate her into her kennel for feeding times. Juliette's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives, as well as a free basic obedience course at Cedar Run #2 in Hiawatha. Last hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor only pets and that adopters have a history of keeping their pets altered and current on vaccinations. Meet Max, he's got all the best traits of a lab - he loves to play ball, he's full of goofy (dare we say derpy?!) and fun energy and he's just generally happy to be with you! Max is an XL dog with an XL zest for life! At just around 2-3 years old Max is the perfect age to learn some new tricks and settle in nicely to a new home! We're think that Max could be paired with other medium to large dogs with a similar play style, and he could easily meld into a home with older kids who love slobbery dog kisses! We don't think that Max is a match with cats, we would also love to see him in a home with a secure yard that he could probably spend hours with you playing fetch every day!    Max has been diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis and his case review by a specialist; surgery is not recommended at this time however it may be required at some point in his future. Max is a happy and healthy dog but should not be allowed to overexert himself and will need to be walked with a harness or gentle leader, a fenced in yard will be his best option at having some freedom to enjoy the outdoors!   Max's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines and preventatives plus a current Heartworm test.  Also included in Max's adoption is a free training course at Cedar Run Company #2 in Hiawatha! Greta is a big girl weighing in around 80 pounds, but don't let her size fool you because she is the biggest love bug and enjoys pets and attention from people she trusts! Greta really enjoys playing with other large (male) dogs and we would love to place her with a confident and playful companion that she can grow and learn from! However, she does not seem to enjoy the company of smaller dogs and she can be very selective with other female dogs.  Greta also enjoys spending time and getting attention from her care takers, so be prepared to have a couch companion of your own! Greta has been cat tested and is rather timid of feline friends so a dog savvy cat or no cats would be best for her.  She would also do best in a home with no children as she can be nervous at times and their unexpected movements may scare her. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Athena is a young senior, around 9-10 years old.  She is a very even-keel dog, past her puppy years and enjoying her golden years.  She enjoys a good stroll around the neighborhood once a day, she doesn't pull hard on her leash but she rather enjoys walking at the very end of her leash so as to lead the way! She loves to patrol the yard and will do her best to keep the area squirrel free! Athena isn't much for toys, she instead is a foodie and loves to eat! But she's no fool, when you try to give her her daily meds she will quickly eat around the pill and just take the tasty stuff if you aren't careful!  Athena does seem to bond more to women, in her foster home she will follow mom around the house and then steal foster dads spot in the bed at night. Athena has happily accepted pets from grandkids and neighbors while on a walk, so could easily live with older kids. Athena has lived with another very easy going dog that was around her size, but we have a feeling she would be happiest as an only dog. She isn't a match for any younger, or higher energy dogs as she wouldn't appreciate the interruptions to her couch-potato ways and she can get pretty grouchy when dogs get in her space. She is unfortunately, not a match with cats as they bring out the "chase" in her!  She takes some daily prescription meds for mobility and will need to continue these long term, but a good walk every day is keeping her happy and healthy! Athena is seeking an owner that isn't gone long days, she'll enjoy your company too much to have you away after all! Athena's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives plus a free basic obedience course at Cedar Run Company #2 in Hiawatha.
