Story
Mango is a sweet, shy gal looking for a quiet home with calm humans to love her. Mango also loves to be outside but if not leashed it can be difficult to get her to come in. She walks great on leash and is very smart. Mango takes a bit of time to warm up to new people and can be stand offish when outside in a yard but inside she likes to lay on a bath mat and soak up the brushing and loves. If you think you have the right home for this sweet girl please feel free to stop in. Mango also does good with other animals but due to her fearfulness no children under 16 please.

Story
We got this puppy this summer, and I found out I was pregnant around the same time. We thought we could handle it. However, now we are moving to a tiny house that is in a very busy area and with an infant, it’s not going to work. Can’t believe we have to say goodbye to our dog, however, somebody else will be blessed with him.

Story
Laika is officially up for adoption here in Maine! If you remember our post, she was the dog that came from the vet’s office. The office where her owner brought her to be euthanized because one of their cats was no longer with them because of her (unsure how involved she was). As a back story, she lived with 5 other dogs. She wasn’t brought out a whole lot, and based upon her behavior…no one ever spent any positive time with her. When she first arrived, she was TERRIFIED. She bolted every second there was a sound. She had a harness and super tight collar on for the first week she was with us. She cowered ALL THE TIME. Fast forward to today. She is spayed and up to date with shots. She is still very timid. She has connected with me, and looks for me. She wags the tip of her tail. She wiggles now and bounces. She looks at things instead of bolting. I can take her out with a slip lead. She cuddles. It is now time for her to have a real home. Us keeping her isn’t an option as she needs so much more than a rescue home can give her. She needs to be loved. She needs to know that there are still good people in the world. She needs someone who will walk with her or spend time in a secured yard. She needs someone that can just hang out with her, teach her. Other dogs are still touch and go. After what she has been through, it’s understandable. Because she is 2 years old, there is so much growth that can happen if someone puts the time in. Absolutely no cats, no small animals, no small dogs period. No aggression behavior towards people has been shown.

Hey! Sharky here! I know my name sounds a little intimidating, but I was named after Sparky on OG resident at the shelter because I looked so much like him. I am good with other dogs, and people, I LOVE meal time and my bed the most. I also enjoy going on walks in the field next to the shelter!
