Story
Puppies like Blaze remind us why rescue work matters so much. While some litters are born into comfort and care, Blaze and his siblings have been surviving in conditions too heartbreaking to fully describe. At only 4 months old and 18 pounds, this Black Lab mix has lived his entire young life in an unclean outdoor pen—never knowing warmth, play, or even basic comfort. But the moment he entered foster care, Blaze’s light started to shine. His first real bath, which he adored, washed away more than dirt—it washed away the feeling that this was all life would ever be. He received his first vaccine, began deworming, and for the first time, got to chew on a real toy and rest somewhere safe. His short video shows a puppy discovering happiness in real time. Blaze is a blank slate in the best possible way: open-hearted, eager to learn, and so ready to belong to someone. He will be neutered on 11/17 and then he’ll be ready to finally have the life every puppy deserves—a home full of kindness, routine, and people who treat him like family. His foster mom says all four puppies are incredibly sweet despite their rough beginning. Blaze was the first one we could save because we simply don’t have fosters yet for the others. Adopting him doesn’t just change his life—your choice creates room and hope for the next little one waiting in that pen. Blaze is ready to be someone’s heart dog. He is ready to sleep indoors, to trust people, to explore, to make friends, to grow up safe. Most of all, he is ready to feel loved. If you feel pulled to be the person who gives Blazd his new beginning, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue atccrtennessee@gmail.com or text/call 615-661-5333. Blaze is waiting for the miracle that looks like you. Story
What’s not to love about Idgie? This gorgeous Black Lab/Beagle mix puppy has every lovable trait from both sides of her family tree—intelligence, sweetness, loyalty, curiosity, and a whole lot of heart. At 4 months old and 20 pounds, she’s on track to become a perfect medium-size companion of 40–45 pounds full grown.  Idgie didn’t start life in the best circumstances. She and her siblings lived in a sad, dirty situation until stepping into safety on 11/16. But that’s behind her now—Idgie has traded a tough beginning for a future filled with love, snuggles, and hope. In her foster home, she’s surrounded by kind, gentle kids who shower her with affection. She revels in every hug, every cuddle, every moment of warmth she’s finally getting to experience. She has four siblings also searching for forever homes, and together they’re proving just how resilient, bright, and eager to bond they are. These puppies are little learning machines—curious, smart, and ready to soak up every lesson their new families want to teach. Idgie’s shiny black coat and soft Beagle ears aren’t just adorable—they frame the sweetest puppy face you’ll ever meet. She’s a survivor with a gentle spirit, a loving nature, and a spark of Beagle adventure that makes life with her fun and full of possibilities. Whether you’re dreaming of a holiday season filled with puppy snuggles, sweet gazes, and joyful energy… or simply looking for a loyal companion to grow up with your family… Idgie is ready to be your girl. She has so much love to give, and she’s waiting for a family who will cherish her forever.  If you think Idgie belongs in your home, contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 12, 2025, 2:53 pm

Story
Velvet's special story with a happy ending yet to come.  When Velvet first arrived, her name felt almost too beautiful for the dog standing before us. She was thin, exhausted, and clearly had spent far too long scavenging for food and surviving on whatever scraps she could find. But even then, beneath the rough edges and the dull coat, there was something unmistakably special about her — a softness waiting to bloom, a gentleness that had survived everything she’d been through. Today, Velvet has become the dog her name promised she would be. At two years old and around 50 pounds, this Chocolate Lab has transformed into a joyful, affectionate, toy-toting sweetheart who simply radiates gratitude. Her foster family says she wakes up each day with a smiling face and a constantly wagging tail, happy for things most dogs take for granted: regular meals, a warm bed, the freedom to roam the house, and people who treat her with kindness. She loves carrying toys and balls around, proudly offering them to you as her way of saying, “Let’s play. I trust you.” Velvet is a gentle, easygoing girl who is fully housebroken, crate trained, and wonderfully well-mannered, though being crated for long hours is something she hopes to leave in her past. She came from a life where she was confined far too much, and she blossoms when she’s given space, companionship, and the simple joy of being part of a home. She is not destructive when left loose — in fact, give her a toy or two and she is content and peaceful. This sweet girl was also a devoted mom to a July 4th litter — Blair, Boone, and Brewster — all of whom we rescued alongside her. With her puppies safe and growing, Velvet is finally getting the chance to live her own life. Her foster mom lights up when she talks about her and says Velvet is the kind of dog who gets into your heart quietly but deeply, simply by being her gentle, grateful self. Velvet is ready for a home that will let her sleep on a soft dog bed, enjoy companionship throughout the day, and experience comfort instead of confinement. If you work long hours, she would benefit from doggie daycare a couple of days a week if you work out of the house.  There she can enjoy playtime and routine with fewer days being crated. What she wants more than anything is a family who sees the beauty in her soul — a family who understands how far she’s come and is excited to give her the wonderful life she deserves. If you’re searching for a tender-hearted, loyal companion who will fill your home with warmth and joy, Velvet may be the perfect addition to your family. Story
&#226&#156&#168Meet Blair: From Brave Beginnings to Bright Futures” Introducing Blair, a spirited and affectionate pup whose journey is as special as her Fourth of July birthday. Born into hardship but rescued just in time, Blair now has a fresh new start and is ready to leap into a future filled with love, comfort, and joyful adventures. Blair’s mama is a gorgeous Chocolate Lab, and her dad is an Australian Shepherd—but Blair herself is very much her mama’s daughter, with classic Lab looks: sleek black fur, expressive eyes, and a tiny touch of white on her chest. She is fully vetted, spayed, and thriving in her experienced foster home where she’s receiving all the care and nourishment she once lacked. This sweet girl has a big personality—she’s the vocal one of the litter, always eager to announce new discoveries, say hello to visitors, or let you know when something exciting is happening in the yard. Once she understands her surroundings, she settles into quiet observation mode, taking everything in like the smart little lady she is. Blair came from a place where food was scarce and attention even scarcer, so now she treasures every meal, every cuddle, and every moment she’s included. She’s learning the ropes of puppy manners: • Leash training is a work in progress and her crate training is going but she prefers bedtime snuggles over crates.  Housebreaking is doing well with a doggie door to encourage impromptu excursions outside when nature calls.  What Blair needs most is a family who will guide her gently, love her deeply, and help her become the confident, well-mannered companion she’s meant to be. A fenced yard, patient humans, and maybe some children to adore would make her holiday dreams come true. If Blair sounds like your perfect new family member, please reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. This girl has a heart full of love—and she’s ready to share it with YOU.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 11, 2025, 7:13 pm
