Story
At just 3 months old, this Lab/Pitty mix is already stealing hearts faster than the Grinch stole presents. Don't worry though-Baby Bricky's only robbing you of personal space and emotional stability via excessive cuteness. • Crate trained: He sleeps like Cindy Lou Who on Christmas Eve-peaceful, adorable, zero complaints. • Dog friendly: LOVES other pups and is always down for a playdate. • Cat reactions: Gives them "...and you are??" side-eye but politely moves on. Drama-free king. • Potty training: Still learning! But c'mon... he's basically a toddler with paws. • Toy enthusiast: Runs around joyfully like he just stole the roast beast. • Belly-up sleeper: ACTUALLY REQUESTS rubs both conscious and unconscious. Zero boundaries. 10/10 respect that energy. If you're looking for a furry little Whoville addition this holiday season, meet Baby Bricky-because some pets don't just grow hearts three sizes... they make yours do it too.  Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 15.2 Age: 0yrs 3mths 1wks

Meet Snookie and her puppies, Kaos (F), Milo (M), and Karmen (F).All of these adorable pups are Beagle mixes. They are a medium size dog, around 40 pounds.Snookie is about 2 years old and Kaos, Milo, and Karmen are all about 1 year old. They are good with other dogs, seem to not mind cats, and with their great medium size they would certainly do well with children. All of them have their own personalities, but most importantly they just want a home to be loved in. Story
Meet Applewood Applewood is our three and a half year old Louisiana lovebug! When Applewood came to HAP she was positive for heartworm so we got to work right away in getting her treated and cleared of heartworm and now she's ready for her furever home! Applewood loves loves loves to cuddle. It's her absolute favorite thing in the world and she will not hesitate to find whatever human is nearby and move her entire body in for snuggles! Seriously, she would just lay by your side all day if you'd let her. But when she's not getting all the love, she loves to play with her toys and can happily entertain herself if there's squeaky toys involved. It's the cutest thing to see her toss them up and run around pouncing on the squeakers. Applewood hasn't been the biggest fan of sharing all the attention with other dogs and has preferred to soak everything in all on her own so would do best in a home where she can be the center of attention. She has met a few children and has done well with her loving and gentle temperament so would probably do well with children of any ages. So if you're looking for a lap dog that will be your best friend and provide all the cuddles, Applewood is the girl for you! While completing her treatment, Applewood spent some time in foster and here's what they had to say about her: "Applewood spent a few weeks with us while she was undergoing heartworm treatment and she was a gem! Despite the meds making her feel a little yucky and out of it, she was always wagging her tail when she saw us and would spend most of her time by one of our sides soaking up all the pets we had to offer. She also found where the sun spots would be throughout the day and would move from spot to spot soaking up the sun. She loved sunbathing and relaxing in our backyard regardless of the weather. She wanted to be outside and loved to spend time out there and going on short walks while her activity was restricted. Applewood was a sweetheart and we hope she finds the perfect home soon!" If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! Story
Dog Name: Truffles Breed: Lab mix Sex: female Age: Approx 3yo Weight: 50 lbs approx.   Medical Needs: Truffles is literally allergic to everything. When she arrived from Georgia, she had mange. She has recovered, however, she continues to have skin allergies. She takes 1 fish oil supplement pill twice daily along with 2 Solliquin twice daily, and a half of Apoquel (16mg) twice daily.  Also, Truffles is on a salmon grain free food due to her allergies.  For Flea and Tick prevention, she takes Credelio monthly. Additionally, when she is experiencing a skin flare up, she takes medicated baths twice weekly.   Housebroken: Yes    Crate trained: Yes, her crate is her happy place. She loves to chew on her toys and bones. Truffles will only willingly leave her crate to go outside with her bestie. If her bestie doesn’t go outside, Truffles will bark and return to her crate. You cannot stand near her crate or the door, otherwise, she won’t go out or come in. Truffles will allow us to climb in her crate for scratches and love but will not willingly leave her crate for attention. Occasionally, she will venture out for treats, but not consistently. She will allow us to carry her to the couch, and will lay quietly in your lap while getting lots of love.    Good in the car: A work in progress, if her bestie is with her, she is happy, if she’s alone, she will shake.   Good on a leash: A work in progress. Again, if her bestie is with her, and she is on a chain leash, she will take a few steps. Otherwise, she is growling and chewing on the leash, with all four breaks on.     Energy level: medium   Need a fenced in yard: Yes, Truffles is no fan of leashed walks. She loves to race and play with her resident bestie and other resident dogs.   Dog Friendly: Yes. She lived her whole life with other dogs, and takes great solace with having friends. Truffles can be a bit rough playing, but loves all our dogs.     If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive?   Absolutely, over the past year, Truffles has made a lot of progress, but needs the confidence of a friend, to know that you can be trusted. This is a requirement for her adoption.   Cat Friendly? She is fine with our dog savvy cats    Kid Friendly: Unknown   If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Kids old enough to give her space and understand that Truffles is a special girl who is not interested in attention.   Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?  Truffles was rescued from a horrific abusive hoarding ‘rescue’ situation in Georgia, where she lived in an outdoor pen with numerous other dogs, and was literally feral when she was pulled. Over the past year, Truffles has made great progress, but she will never be an affectionate carefree dog, and needs an adopter who understands her needs and patience. Truffles will require another dog in the home to ease her transition.   Fosters Location: Harrington, DE   Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app ##2213948##
