Story
Jett is 6 years old and was adopted from a shelter as a puppy for my then teenage niece. She is now in college and couldn’t take him with her. I have taken him in from my sister because she has had to take on additional work to put my niece through college which requires him to be left alone for long periods of time. I am legally blind and have a dog of my own, and it has become too much for me to handle as well. Jett is house trained and an indoor dog, but he would benefit from a home with a yard for him to run around. He is the sweetest dog and gets along well with my other dog. He loves back scratches and bully rubs. He has never been around cats or children for extended periods of time, but he’s always friendly with children when we’re out on walks. He has also been boarded in homes with cats and I was told he did fine. He does have allergies but they are well managed with meds. We want nothing more than for him to find a new home where he’ll get the same amount of love he gives.

Story
Meet Jitterbug! Jitterbug is a young dog who is eager to learn and even more eager to love. She is all fun, all the time. With the structure and consistency a home of her own could give her, she would thrive! Jitterbug knows her basic commands and is working on her leash walking. She loves toys and to run outside in the play yards. She is a high energy girl, and would love a home that can give her the outlets she needs. Jitterbug is also incredibly smart, and is a good listener. A home that can continue her training and work her brain will turn her into the best girl she can be! Jitterbug does not react well to cats, and would do best in a feline-free home. While she shows some dog reactivity, we think she could live with a dog that matches her energy. If she sounds like the right fit for you, fill out an application and come meet her right at the shelter! She would love to meet you! Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 47.6 Age: 1yrs 9mths 4wks

Story
Meet Trouble - the happiest "troublemaker" you'll ever meet!Trouble is anything but his name. He's a cheerful, goofy, happy‑go‑lucky guy who's ready to find his forever family. After becoming a bit of a frequent flyer at the Humane Society, his owner ultimately made the difficult decision to surrender him - and now Trouble is hoping his next stop will be his last. His biggest "trouble"? He's a bit of a magician. This boy has some escape‑artist tendencies, which are more funny than frustrating, but his new family should be mindful of doors and gates. He's clever, curious, and always up for a little adventure.Trouble is a medium‑energy dog with a rambunctious streak, especially in the shelter environment. We expect he'll settle nicely once he's in a home where he can stretch his legs and get out more than a couple times a day. So far, he seems to do well with other dogs, and we'll be testing him with cats soon. What really sets Trouble apart is how much love he has to give. His enthusiasm for life is matched only by his affection for people. If you're looking for a fun, spirited companion to join you on all your adventures, Trouble might just be the perfect fit. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 43 Age: 1yrs 3mths 3wks

Story
Axel: Your Everyday Sunshine ☀️🐾 7 years old · Black Lab/Shepherd Mix · Approx. 69 lbs · Neutered Male ·Location (Shelter) ⭐ Adoption Fee: $0.00 ( generously sponsored) Meet Axel, a 7-year-old gentleman with a soft heart, a steady soul, and a smile you can count on 98 percent of the time. Axel came to us through no fault of his own after his owner was no longer able to care for him. He arrived healthy, well-mannered, and ready to make himself right at home wherever love is offered. At nearly 69 pounds, he is a solid boy, but his personality is pure gentle giant. According to his former owner, Axel did wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children. Since being with us, he has continued to show that same easygoing nature. During his photo session, all he wanted was to lean into our volunteer and soak up affection. If there is a lap nearby, Axel will politely try to fit into it. At our recent Pups and Pancakes event, Axel was an absolute star. He lounged comfortably beside our volunteers, greeted new friends with calm enthusiasm, and especially enjoyed the attention from children. He even participated in the pancake catching contest like a seasoned professional. Through it all, he remained relaxed, friendly, and happy to simply be part of the fun. Axel is treat motivated, which makes him both attentive and eager to please. He is also wonderfully tolerant of dress up days and will happily sport a bandana or festive accessory without complaint. Whether he is strolling by your side or relaxing at your feet, Axel carries himself with a quiet confidence that makes everyone around him feel at ease. Axel is a senior but with that comes the best part, a calm maturity, reliable temperament, and the kind of companionship that only a well-seasoned dog can offer. Axel’s Highlights ✔️ 7 year old Lab/Shepherd mix, approx. 69 lbs ✔️ Neutered and Microchipped ✔️ Gentle, affectionate, and easygoing ✔️ Reported to do well with dogs, cats, and children (Note from Previous Owner) ✔️ Treat motivated and eager to please ✔️ Calm presence with a constant happy expression ⭐ Sponsored Adoption Fee If you are looking for a steady companion who brings warmth, kindness, and an easy smile into every room, Axel is ready to be your sunshine. 📍 Come meet Axel at the Caroline County Humane Society 407 W.
