Story
"He's the perfect dog; sleeps all night in his crate, no accidents in the house, and is already GREAT on the leash. No pulling, just sticks with the human. He is a happy-go-lucky guy and he wants and needs to be someone's true sidekick. Ethan loves being outside, Like I said...sidekick." -Ethan's foster mom. Ethan is about ten months old, is neutered, and is about 35-pounds. This handsome fellow came to us from a humane society in Texas! He is currently in a foster home, so call us at 219-872-4499 if you want to adopt him! Here is some more great info from his foster mom: "He is soft and kind with other animals. He is not food-aggressive, which is amazing considering how clearly underfed he had been when he arrived. He enjoys movie night, and the more friends (furry and human) piled on the couch with him the better! Also...he likes canned tuna with his dry food. Also canned pumpkin, too. We are working on fattening him up a bit, in a healthy way!" It would be great for Ethan to be in a home with other furry friends; in fact, we'd love for him to be placed with another dog. He lights up and is much more confident when he has someone to hang out with. He is a dreamboat once he adjusts, so please be patient if he is a bit timid when you meet him at the shelter; there are a lot of new things in his little world recently! If you like a pup who wants to snuggle and curl in your arms, call us to adopt this good boy.

Story
There are dogs who like snow. There are labs who are notorious for liking snow. And then there is Earl. Earl puts every other dog's snow obsession to shame. We have never seen a happier pup in snow than Earl! If you are someone who cross-country skis or loves to be out in the white fluffy stuff and you need a furbuddy to join you, you absolutely need this dog. The best thing about Earl is that he has an energy level that would make him the best outdoor winter companion! We haven't seen him around water yet, but we think it is a safe assumption that he will be just excited playing in a pool as he is bouncing around in 2' of snow! This guy is a big dude! Earl weighs about 95-pounds! He is quite bull-in-a-China-shop-like, but not in a negative way at all! He doesn't seem to understand how large he is and is just the goofiest good boy! Earl goes from person to person, asking them to throw his tennis ball, then he gallops and clomps on his merry way to fetch the ball. Earl's never lived with kiddos before, and given his size and energy-level, anyone in the home should be sturdy! Children should be about 12ish and up. If you have kids who need a pup like Earl, we'll want to observe his behavior around them to see what he thinks! We don't know what he thinks about kitty friends just yet. He will do best as the only dog in the home. Talk about being a great student at being house-trained as well as crate-trained, too! Earl knows how to sit, lay down, shake, and speak. He will do anything for a treat or tennis ball. Seriously. He is the most tuned-in pup when you have something he is willing to work for! Earl is about three and a half years old and is neutered.

Story
What's the best thing about Capone? Well, we are SO glad that you asked! The best thing about Capone is how much love he has to offer. This boy is a pup who is happiest when he is near someone. Every chance he gets, Capone wants to snuggle close. So, our point is that if you are going to adopt a cuddle-bug, why not do it when the temps are dropping and snuggle sessions are in full force? He would be the ideal family dog. If your kiddos are respectful and sturdy, Capone has done very well with those types of kiddos. He's been doing well meeting other playful shelter pups, too! He is social and interactive and we could see him working hard to be a part of every aspect of your life! As if you need any other reason to adopt Capone, he is a total gentleman. He knows how to sit, lay down, and shake with both paws! He's a treat-motivated dude but really is happiest to work for his tennis ball. He also couldn't have been sweeter for his vet intake. Here at the shelter, he has done very well meeting new people! We want to make sure to set him up for success so it would be best for Capone to be inside the house when delivery drivers bring stuff to the home. He isn't too sure when it comes to them and feels safest with his family. His adopter will need to be extra committed to making sure he has access to vet care since he is positive for Lyme disease. We are treating him already but Capone will need vet visits to make sure his symptoms are managed. If you are still reading, then we think you just need to come and meet Capone! Clearly, you are interested in this dreamboat. He is about five years old and is neutered.
