Story
Black is a handsome fella. Don't know why he gets overlooked. He could not be a better dog. He COULD use a big dose of confidence. He is people friendly but takes a little time to warm up and then he is mush in your hands. He is dog friendly and goes in a play group with other dogs during the day. Black would benefit greatly from an adopter who would make him feel safe, loved, and who would work on building him up to feel like the good boy that WE KNOW HE IS. UPDATE-Black has recently gone on a weekend field trip to see how he behaves in a home. The weekend fosters said he was absolutely wonderful, a little shy at first but so loving and a great house guest. He even let them give him a bath. Black is waiting for his much deserved forever home.

Story
This sweet girl is Ivy and we would like to find the perfect home for her. Ivy is around 1-2 yrs old and walks great on a leash. We do not believe she was treated very well before coming to the shelter and she can be shy (especially with males) but will quickly warm up to people after about a five minute introduction with treats:) She thinks she would like to be a lap dog and seems to be very affectionate immediately following a few pets and a little sweet talk. We are still learning her likes and dislikes (like other dogs). If anyone deserves a "Do Over", Its Ivy and we would like a person/family that has the desire to provide a great environment for this very deserving girl probably the first time ever. Please make Ivy's dream come true and set up an appointment to visit by calling 662-393-5857. Ivy is available for adoption and will be released to an approved home following her mandatory spay.

Story
Penny. Do you see the sparkle in this girls eyes? She was such a sad little confused dog at our local shelter. She’s an older gal about 6-8 years old and we couldn’t leave her at the shelter. ❤️ She’s really enjoying toys and chewy’s now. A nice family sent Christmas toys for the dogs and she loves her benabone and a stuffed toy she hasn’t shredded yet. This older girl really has the personality. Trying to match her up with possibly another senior human that’s home most of the time. She does fine on her own but I just think she would be an amazing companion. Penny will let you know when it’s time to go out to potty and also when it’s breakfast and dinner time. Her DNA Results show 18.7% Lab, 14.1% Irish Setter, 12.5% Border Collie, 12.2 Chihuahua, 7.9% Pomeranian, 6.3% Chow, 5.4% American Eskimo, 22.9% Super Mutt! She is spayed, heartworm negative, weighs 34 pounds, fully vaccinated and current on all preventatives. Her adoption fee is $150 If interested in giving this pet a home, please send us an email and we will send you an application to fill out. saveonepet@gmail.com Save 1 Pet is a 501 (c) 3 approved charity committed to helping homeless animals. We don't have a facility (shelter) but work out of our homes to foster the animals until they find a forever home. Please be advised that for all adoptions, we will conduct reference checks, including veterinary references. Story
Zena is a 6 year old lab mix. She was found chained up outside with her 9 newborn puppies at Sardis Lake. The puppies were scattered around during a heavy rainstorm, and she could not reach them. She was severely underweight and heartworm positive when she entered the rescue. She is now 50lbs and heartworm negative! She has come a long way. Zena is house trained, crate trained, and knows how to use a doggy door. She is very loving and craves attention from her people, so she would be fine as an only dog. She does get along well with her furry siblings in the foster home, but she does take time to warm up, so we recommend slow introductions. She is a very active dog and loves to play outside with her foster siblings. She has come such a long way and would love nothing more than a furever home. She has been known to jump a fence, so a tall 6ft wooden fence is recommended to keep her from taking an occasional stroll after a squirrley friend.    Zena has had all of her shots, as well as rabies vaccination, is spayed, and microchipped. Zena is ready to meet and bond with her furever family. Zena's adoption fee is $200.  If you have any questions, please email us at:   newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com .  You can apply to adopt her here:   http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET! Story
MAX IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN. Max is a 2-year-old black lab mix with lots of energy and love to give. He loves to meet people and play with other dogs. He shows his love by sitting between your legs and looking up at you with his big puppy dog eyes. He is normally 65 lbs, but just gained some weight being confined during heartworm treatment, so he’s now 80 lbs. It won’t take him long to lose that weight, since he likes to play fetch and swim to fetch sticks. He is ok with brave cats but will chase scaredy cats. He learns fast and knows the commands sit, stay, lay down, heel, out, potty, down, get a toy, and is always willing to learn more for a treat. He is potty, leash, and crate trained and loves to play with other active dogs at the dog park. He would do well with an active family, but since he still thinks he’s a puppy, he needs more training before playing with small children.  Max's adoption fee is $200. If you have any questions, please email us at:  newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com .
