Story
Meet Daisy! Daisy is a Lab mix who is approximately 3-4yrs old. She was a skinny, unclaimed stray that was found running with her sidekick Duke. With a little food and a lot of LHS love, she is doing amazing. Duke has since been adopted, now it’s Daisy’s turn! Daisy is a typical lab- smart, friendly and very energetic. Daisy will need work on leash walking skills. She also needs an active owner that sees she will get the exercise she needs. A fenced yard would be a plus. Daisy has met other dogs and had done well with slow introductions. We are unsure about cats. If you are interested in this beautiful girl , please fill out our online application or stop in during open hours. Wednesday 6-8pm or Saturday 12-3pm. https://www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org/online-adoption-form

Story
5/25/24, rescued from an overcrowded shelter that ran out of room for her. She is an approximately 1-year-old spayed female, weighing around 67 lbs. She may fill out a little over the next few months, but is mostly full-grown. She is believed to be a Labrador Retriever/Great Dane mix. Sadie is very friendly with people, including children. She also gets along well with most other friendly dogs, and cats, too, but she prefers dogs that are polite and calmer vs. those that are very rambunctious and rowdy. As with all young dogs, she will need plenty of daily exercise and playtime, ongoing training, and lots of patience and love to help her become the best dog she can be! If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an  Adoption Application at caninerescue.org.  *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you.   If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them. NYS Registration #RR028

Story
My situation is heartbreaking, as I would love to keep Winston. My Father has cancer and Winston is just too strong for him to take him outside for walks. Winston has never even been around other dogs, we live in a small town with no lawn to just run around and be a lab. Which brakes my heart. He deserves a good family where he can be the true pure bread that he is. Now that my parents can’t raise him as they are older and with this stage 4 cancer, I’m not even allowed to have pets, which I have been.. but I work 2 jobs, non stop, so he is crated a LOT. Which is killing me inside. I can’t even hardly walk him because he pulls me so badly. I’m sure he’s just excited to be out, but I weigh 112 pounds. I just can’t. He deserves a wonderful life! It’s just a sad situation. He is 3 years old. He’s only been around kid wise, is my son who’s 19, which he can’t help either, as he just went to college. So, I’m sure he will just be excited at first around anyone. But labs are such smart dogs. ❤️

Trust us; he's worth every mile!Hunter is more than just a sweet face; he's also a quick learner. His foster family has been putting in the work, and he's been acing his obedience training. In his foster home, he's been a real champ, getting along wonderfully with non-dominant dogs and playful puppies. When it comes to humans and other animals, Hunter prefers a gradual approach so slow introductions are his preference to ensure he forms lasting bonds. He loves children! During an adoption event he was all tail wags when the kids came up for pets.Hunter has mastered the art of walking on a leash and being house-trained. Walkies are his absolute favorite thing! So if you are an avid walker/hiker this is your dog!! He's also a pro at basic commands like sit, wait, shake, down, and he's getting the hang of stay too.But what Hunter truly excels at is spreading love. He's a cuddle enthusiast who will happily crawl into your lap, showering you with affectionate kisses. So, here's the deal: Hunter is ready and willing to travel for his forever home If you believe you can provide this sweetheart with the loving and active life he deserves, don't hesitate. Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.Dynamic Duo Dudes!!!  Meet DOC & MARTY, 2 mixed breed puppies about 4-5 months old and weighing 20 pounds.  I know they have some lab in them and will probably reach at least 40 pounds as adults. These 2 brothers were found wondering a construction site in San Antonio, TX.  The smaller boy MARTY has some brown on his face and he is the more submissive one.  Very gentle and kind-hearted.  He loves to play and he sleeps right at my feet no matter where I am; in the recliner, on the couch or in bed.  He likes to cozy up.  He follows his brother around to a certain extent but they are NOT bonded, they can be adopted separately. DOC is the other brother that is just a tad bit taller than MARTY.  He is more outgoing and very social but a sweet puppy who is just a typical puppy who plays, eats, sleeps and plays some more.  He can be found in the middle of the other foster puppies playing and running zoomies in the backyard. Both boys are doing really well on their potty training.  I am home most of the day and have time to let them out very often, but they are getting the hang of it. If you are interested in adopting either of these boys please submit an application on the website below.  More pictures are available once you email me.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         July 21, 2024, 10:45 am
