Story
*Apricity is currently out on a Slumber Party! Meet Apricity (her name means “the warmth of sunlight in winter”)! This gorgeous girl was abandoned and unlicensed, and she is ready to make a fresh start in a new home – a forever home! Believed to be a mix of primarily Labrador Retriever with a smidge of Beagle and possibly some other breeds as well, this sweetheart is approximately 1 year old and full-grown. She gets along well with other dogs she has met, and has been very affectionate with people, too. She already knows some basic commands and seems to be very smart. She is sure to attract a lot of attention, so don’t hesitate – this dreamy pup is going to be a real star for the lucky person who adopts her! More info to come as we get to know her better. *Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit. If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email, as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopters must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them. Thank you! NYS Registration #RR028 Date of Arrival: January 2026 Breed(s): Lab mix Age: Approximately 1 year old Health Info: Spayed, vaccinated and microchipped

Story
This beautiful girl is full of personality and heart, and she’s just waiting for the right home to let it all shine! Amber can be a little extra bouncy and silly when she’s faced with new people or situations that make her a bit nervous, but don’t let that fool you. She very much wants attention and connection! Once she realizes you’re a friend, her playful side comes out, and she’s happy to soak up love and join in on the fun. Just around 1 1/2 years old, Amber was found abandoned locally and has a lingering slight limp from injuries sustained after being hit by a car while she was out on her own, but she still enjoys being active and loves to run around. We believe she’s a Labrador/Terrier mix, weighing around 50 pounds, and she has so much potential ahead of her! She’s still learning new skills, and will benefit from continued training, patience, and positive reinforcement. Treats and gentle encouragement go a long way with her! Amber may be able to share a home with another friendly dog around to show her the ropes, although she could also do well as an only dog. If you’re looking for a lovable, silly, and beautiful pup who may need a little extra guidance as she adjusts, but who has a lifetime of affection and loyalty to give, Amber may be your perfect match! *Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party Program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit. Story
Meet Sebastian, a big, handsome hunk of dog with an even bigger heart. This gentle giant has a presence that turns heads, but it’s his sweet, soulful personality that really steals the show. He’s the kind of dog who leans into you for love, soaking up attention like it’s his favorite hobby. Sebastian enjoys the simple pleasures in life: a good walk to stretch his long legs, time to play and burn off some energy, and then a nice cozy spot to relax and be close to his people. He’s affectionate, loyal, and thrives on companionship, making him a wonderful partner for someone looking for a devoted best friend. Because of his size, Sebastian would do best with a family ready to embrace life with a big dog—one who understands that “lap dog” is a state of mind, not a size requirement.
