Story
Introducing Brian! This sweet and energetic boy comes to us all the way from South Carolina, where he was picked up as a stray along with his "brother," both dogs covered in mud and filth, emaciated and terrified. He lived in an overcrowded, underfunded rural shelter for months, outside in the play yard because there was no room for him inside. His "brother" was eventually adopted and he was left alone. Several rescues committed to him and then backed out due to overcrowding, and he was left behind time and time again. After five months in the shelter, when we had seen his beautiful face one too many times, we decided enough was enough and we arranged to have Brian transported to New York for a second chance. He is finally being allowed to enjoy the puppy time he missed out on, and he is learning how to be a spoiled house dog. :) Brian is still learning his manners, but he responds positively to training and is very eager to please. He is very cuddly and loves kisses and petting. He is a fun, energetic boy that would make a good only dog, or an excellent dog in a multi-pet household with the right introduction. He is both dog an cat friendly. We have found that dog introductions need to be slow and controlled. He gets along very well with the other dogs in our home, but initial meet and greets with other dogs have involved bared teeth and tension because he is shy and protective. He is housetrained, crate trained, and learning how to walk on a leash. He loves his harness and gets excited for walkies. He would be an incredible companion for the right person or family. We are looking for the right family for Brian, and will work closely with any foster or adoptive family who is willing to give him a shot. Please feel free to inquire about a meet and greet or to put in an application for Brian here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ERNY/Dog

Story
She was my 82 year old mother's dog. My Mom got in a car accident and is in the hospital with multiple fractures. My Mom cannot take care of her anymore and I already have a dog. She is not a barker, she is very quiet. She mostly likes to lie on the couche and cuddle. My mother never walked her ever but I have and she does enjoy a small walk (20-30 min tops). She likes children and does not jump on them. My mother at one point had a cat that passed and she didn't bother the cat. She is very friendly and sweet to everyone. She is potty trained and can walk on a leash but like I said is not used to it.

Story
Frederick wanted me to let you know, he is looking for his forever family. Frederick is a sweet, loving, goofy boy. He is a Labrador/hound mix, but does not have the hound vocal trait LOL. He is just a little over a year old (born on May 24, 2022) He weighs about 55-60 lbs. Frederick loves other dogs, is very social with people, though can be a bit shy at first. He does well in the house and is crate trained. Frederick is currently in the Middle TN area, but I will coordinate a transport for an approved home.
