Story
Hoss is a super friendly and mostly smart dog who is absolutely tremendous with kids. He joined our family at 2 years old in 2020 from the SPCA of Wake County and we found he knew a few commands already: he will (generally, if not too excited) sit on command with a hand signal and will happily shake at nearly any time! Between the size and brindle coloring, our best guess is that Hoss is a mix of a Mastiff and a black Labrador We have four kids ranging in age from 8 down to our 2-year-old twins. We’ve had Hoss since before the twins and he has been absolutely great with them aside from bumping them over with his tail sometimes! With the aforementioned four kids running around and constantly growing and the house not getting any larger, we’ve made the hard decision to try to find a new loving home for Hoss. We have a fair amount of gear and flea/tick + heartworm medication to go with Hoss if desired.

Story
My name is Bear. My foster mom calls me care Bear. I so love it when she gives me cuddles and  body scratches. Since being in foster I have learned to sit and shake paw and stay. I sleep in my crate at night very quietly. I am house trained.I am going to be 2 years old in June. I love to play fetch and going on walks through the woods with my foster mom. I can walk on a leash very nicely. I love other dogs who want to play with me but I do better with dogs my size since I play rough sometimes. Foster mom thinks I might be too interested in cats so I’m not allowed to play with them. I have lots of energy and love lots of attention. . I am Completely vetted and microchipped. I have completed professional training with Leash & Lead K9 LLC for better socialization with new people and dogs and children. Since I was never socialized I tended to be nervous but I am much better with that. My trainer says I’m a great dog just needs to learn to trust new things. Who ever heard of a Bear being scared? . To apply visit STFFAR.org for a online application June 4, 2023, 3:31 pm

Story
Ludo is a very good boy with an unusual background. His owner is a friend of my daughter's and I am helping them find a home for him because they needed to move quickly and ended up in a place that does not allow dogs. The original owner has struggled financially and has been on the edge of homelessness for a long time now. Ludo needs a solid permanent home, which he's never really had. He is eager to please and eager to play, but would benefit at a house with a yard. Very friendly and enjoys the company of people.

Story
Bill and his litter mates love to wrestle with their siblings and play outside, then crash, preferably in a warm lap. They were born in AARF care and were able to stay with mama Adele until they were fully weaned. Mama looks like a Shepherd mix and weighs about 40 pounds and several of the pups look quite labby, like Bill. They are working on crate and house training, but at just 2 1/2 months of age, they will need continued training for both. If you are looking for a sweet addition to your family, these pups will be perfect! Bill is fairly calm for a little guy, but he can romp and play with his toys with the rest of them! Come meet our adoptable dogs on Saturdays from 11am to 2pm in the backyard at AARF's new location- 302 Thurston St, W-S. Go to AARFWS.org to view and apply for our AARF dogs. Information about the process is available on our website. Please keep in mind that we do not adopt farther than 45 minutes from AARF.
