Story
Roman is an incredibly sweet, goofy, lovable family dog. He is 75% lab, 25% ACD. His birthday is 11/4/2023. He loves to play light fetch in the house, curl up for naps, and get praise and pets. He's incredibly low maintenance and honestly doesn't love walks, even though he is in good health/weight. He's just a homebody. His only "negative" quality is sometimes getting overexcited with others, like barking if someone knocks. He knows some basic commands. He's been very attached to the man of the house but loves everyone and is SO patient with young kids--no nipping, no herding behaviors, no growling. If anything, he looks confused and amused, even when they're a bit rough or loud. He would love a fenced yard but has grown up in an apartment. We would love to be able to keep him but family circumstances make this impossible. He has been a part of our family, not just a pet, and will make another family very happy. You really couldn't ask for a better boy.

Story
Meet Violet, a sweet Pit Lab mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. Violet truly shines when she’s around humans—she adores attention and will happily soak up all the pets she can get. She’s affectionate, people-oriented, and enjoys being close to those she trusts. Violet would do best in a home where she can get plenty of love, interaction, and companionship. She’s the kind of dog who just wants to be near her people and be part of the family. We’re looking to rehome Violet to ensure she has the loving, stable environment she deserves.

Story
Meet Jingle, an 8-year-old, 51-pound lovebug who is as easygoing as they come. She is wonderfully easy to take out of the kennel and is an absolute dream on leash, staying right with you and making walks feel calm and effortless. Jingle requires a full-body lift to get into the car but doesn’t mind being picked up at all. Once inside, she rides beautifully and settles right in. She loves sniffing her surroundings, whether it’s around a home or in a yard, and takes everything in at her own relaxed pace. She has lovely manners indoors—she is polite during mealtimes, has no accidents inside, and reliably goes potty as soon as she gets outside. Toys aren’t really her thing, but treats definitely are. She takes them gently and knows how to sit. One of Jingle’s standout qualities is how wonderful she is with kids—she is patient, affectionate, and so very kind. She truly is a loving, cuddly companion who just wants to be close to her people. Jingle would thrive in a home looking for a calm, affectionate presence and a loyal friend to share quiet moments with. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

Story
Meet Mimi! 🐾 Mimi is a beautiful Lab Retriever Hound mix with the sweetest soul. She was rescued at just 2 months old in rough condition. We immediately took her to BAS for medical care, vaccinations, and exams, and instead of placing her in a shelter, we made it our mission to find her the forever home she truly deserves. Mimi has grown into an amazing dog she is house, crate, and potty trained. She’s loving, playful, and thrives as a family dog who enjoys companionship and affection. She brings joy wherever she goes and would make a wonderful addition to a home ready to give her the time, love, and stability she deserves. Due to our demanding work schedules and lifestyle, we always knew we wouldn’t be able to keep Mimi long-term, and after over a year of trying to find her the right home, we are hopeful this next step will finally lead her to her forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet, and ready-to-love companion, Mimi just might be your perfect match.
