Story
Poochie showed up at my house approximately 5 months ago. Approximately 1 year old. Had her spayed and was given a 1 year rabies vaccine with hopes this would help her adoption chances. She stays outside. After her spay, she spent the night in bathroom without any pee or poop incidents. She plays with and gets along very well with my male English bulldog (buddies) but isn't fond of my 2 female dogs. One night one of my cats got out and Poochie chased him around the yard. I don't know what she would of done if she would of caught him! She is a loving sweet girl and is gentle with the kids next door and our elderly neighbor. I just know she would be the best little friend for the right person! She deserves that. Her loyalty is evident. Also, she loves car rides! Unfortunately I am at my 3 dog max at current rental property. Otherwise I would keep her.

Story
Meet Nugget! Nugget (dob 7/11/25) is a sweet mixed breed puppy (best guesses - Lab/Pit/Carolina Dog?) who’s as lovable as he is adorable. This little guy has the perfect balance of playful energy and snuggly charm. While he can be a bit timid with new people at first, with patience and love his true personality shines bright. He does love other dogs so another dog in the home may help him adjust to new home. Nugget’s favorite things: • Rolling in the grass and soaking up the sunshine • Chew toys and tasty treats • Snuggling up for naps (he’s a champion cuddler!) • Playing with other dogs and even cats • Running, climbing stairs, and zipping through the doggy door like a pro • Calm bath times and mealtime excitement He’s adventurous too. Nugget even gave swimming a try! While it’s not his favorite, he didn’t hate it either. He’s agile, curious, and learning quickly. Potty training is going really well! Nugget would do best in a home filled with patience, kindness, and love, where he can continue to build his confidence and blossom into the amazing companion he’s meant to be. If you’re ready to add a loyal, affectionate, and playful pup to your family, Nugget is waiting to meet you! ***PLEASE NOTE*** This pup has not yet been altered and requires an extra $100 spay/neuter deposit. JCAPL will pay for the procedure at a partner clinic and once completed, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter. However, a non-local adopter is required to pay for the spay/neuter at their own veterinarian by a specific date. After proof of the procedure is provided, $50 of the adoption fee will be refunded with the deposit. *** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be submitted online, or sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, or faxed to 919-300-5524. We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. *** Thanks for thinking adoption! ***
