Foster Home Feedback 9/22/26 Foster Feedback: Jumanji (aka Juju) had a great time meeting people at the Natural Pet Center event this weekend! While she is still excited to greet new people, she is learning to keep all her paws on the floor and soak up the attention from anyone who looks her way. Many people remarked on Juju's 'perfect size' and I have to agree 100%. She is just the sweetest, petite, perfect medium dog with a soft, shiny black coat and a heart of gold! While she is little, Jumanji continues to show she is no shrinking violet. She plays enthusiastically with our 16-pound corgi mix and needs some reminding from time to time to take it easy! She is also working hard on leash manners. She gets very excited during walks so a front-clip harness has been a life saver for her adventures. Jumanji is soaking up everything life has to offer her now that her puppies are off to their own homes and she is free to just be a dog! 9/13/26 Foster Feedback: Jumanji, aka Mama Juju is such a sweet young girl who is still learning how to just be a dog after becoming a young mom. She is incredibly smart, people-oriented, affectionate, and eager to be involved in whatever is going on. She is definitely a busy girl with some young-dog energy and impulse control still to work on, but she is also able to settle in the house. She enjoys playing with other dogs and does well after proper introductions, although her play style can be pretty enthusiastic! Jumanji continues to be wonderfully house-trained with no accidents. She kennels well with very little objection and is doing well with everyday household routines. We are currently working on leash manners and general polite behavior. She is very smart and picks things up quickly, so I think with consistency, she will continue to make great progress. Jumanji still has some young-dog manners to learn, especially around excitement and wanting attention, but she is such a sweet, fun dog, and I really think she is going to make a wonderful companion for someone. Jumanji would likely be a great fit for someone who enjoys an active, clever dog and is excited to continue helping her learn. She would do well with a family that can give her a good balance of activity, structure, affection, and downtime. She has so much potential and will be a really rewarding dog for the right person. 8/26/2026 Foster Feedback: Level One: Mama Mode — Complete. Jumanji came into rescue with one very important mission: raise nine babies. And she absolutely crushed it. Now the puppies are off starting adventures of their own, which means Jumanji has officially unlocked her next level: Just getting to be Jumanji. She is a sweet, gentle little peanut with a playful, curious personality. Jumanji is a bit of a busybody who likes to know what everyone is doing. She can entertain herself, but given the choice, she’d much rather be wherever her people are. Jumanji LOVES to play. With other dogs, she appreciates a little time to warm up, but once she’s comfortable, she’s happy to romp, play and join in the fun. Bonus skill unlocked: potty training. Jumanji has not had a single accident in her foster home! She also loves going for walks and exploring, although her excitement level is currently a little higher than her leash-manners level. She’ll benefit from someone willing to keep working with her on polite walking while she learns that every adventure does not have to be completed at top speed. Jumanji currently lives with dog-savvy cats and does well with them with supervision. She can be interested in them and may chase if given the opportunity, so we wouldn’t quite call her completely cat-proof. Confident, dog-savvy cats and thoughtful introductions would be the best match. Because her foster works from home, Jumanji hasn’t had much need to spend time crated, so crate skills are still one area of the map we haven’t fully explored yet. At an estimated 35-40 pounds she’s a wonderfully manageable size with plenty of personality packed in. Jumanji spent her first chapter taking care of everyone else.
