Story
I am desperate to get a home for this sweet boy. Kodiak is my daughter's dog. She got him a a puppy but as he got older he developed a very sensitive skin issue. My daughter has taken him to a vet many times. They give him a shot and he's good for awhile and then it comes right back. The problem now is they had a baby and they've been fighting her health because she had asthma. She has had pneumonia twice this year alone and she is only 2 and 1/2. So, we believe the dander ( it's ALOT) is contributing to some of her illnesses. This is where they have to choose between the dog and their daughter. They have an appt this Thursday 07/23/2026 to talk about putting him down. He is a good boy other than his skin issues but they have run out of options. Please, please. If you can help. Please let us know Thank you so very much

Story
Meet Munchkin, a Lab blend with a heart that is growing bigger every single day. When he first arrived, he was scared, skinny, and unsure about the world around him. People were new, and trust did not come easily. But it did not take long for this sweet boy to show us who he really is. With a little patience and kindness, Munchkin has absolutely blossomed into an energetic, affectionate love bug who is discovering just how wonderful life can be.He learned “sit” in about five minutes (smart boy alert!) and is finally starting to embrace the joyful chaos of being a puppy: playing, learning, and soaking up all the love he can get.Munchkin is looking for a family who will keep showing him the ropes and help him continue learning that the world is full of good things and kind people. He still has plenty to learn, but he is already proving that he has huge potential and an even bigger heart. If you are ready for a loyal sidekick, a fast learner, and a puppy who just wants to love and be loved, Munchkin might be your guy. 💛If you are interested in taking Munchkin home, please fill out an application from our website and send it to our team at connect@roguevalleyhumanesociety.org. Story
Meet RJ, a 9 month old Lab blend who has come such a long way since arriving at the shelter. When he first came to us, he was scared, skinny, and unsure about the people around him. Everything felt new and a little overwhelming. But with a little patience and kindness, RJ has started to discover that the world is not such a scary place after all. In no time, this sweet boy began to open up, showing us his gentle personality and affectionate side.RJ is a smart cookie, too. He is eager to learn and loves positive attention. While he still enjoys playful puppy moments, RJ has a slightly more mellow, thoughtful nature and often prefers to soak up affection and spend time close to his people. RJ is looking for a family who will continue helping him build confidence and keep showing him how kind people and the world can be. He still has plenty to learn, but he’s already showing just how much potential he has to grow into an incredible companion. If you are looking for a sweet, smart pup with a gentle heart and a bright future, RJ might just be your perfect match. 💛If you are interested in taking RJ home, please fill out an application from our website and send it to our team at connect@roguevalleyhumanesociety.org. Meet Shea – A Smart, Curious Boy with a Heart Full of Love (and a Serious Treat Addiction!) Shea is an energetic, playful pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Coming from a challenging start in a hoarding situation, Shea has already come a long way and continues to shine as he learns to trust and explore the world around him. During his time in a foster home, Shea proved just how fast he can learn—especially when treats are involved! He’s already mastered sleeping peacefully in his crate, walks nicely on a leash, and loves playing and learning from his doggy pals. He thrives with at least one canine companion who can keep up with his boisterous, playful energy and help guide him as he navigates new experiences. Though curious and full of life, Shea is still building confidence in new environments and around new people. He’s looking for a patient, loving family who will give him the time, guidance, and reassurance he needs to continue blossoming into the amazing dog he’s becoming. Why Shea Could Be Perfect for You: Smart, quick learner, and treat-motivated Loves and learns from other dogs; thrives with a furry companion Playful, energetic, and full of curiosity Ready for a patient, loving home to help him grow confident and happy Shea has already made incredible progress and is ready for the next chapter of his life—with a family who will celebrate every step of his journey. Could your home be the safe, loving place Shea has been waiting for? Call the Ranch today to meet him! Read Shea's Dog of the Week post here: https://rrdog.org/dw/meet-shea/ This puppy, as well as several other dogs and puppies, are currently in our program through a special collaboration with Siskiyou County Animal Control.  Due to severe overcrowding and limited resources in the region, many shelters are faced with incredibly difficult decisions. Together, we’re working to give these dogs a better chance by finding them loving homes or transferring them to partner rescues. They’re available for adoption just like our Rescue Ranch pups — but because of the urgency of the situation, they may be transferred quickly. If you're interested, we highly encourage you to act fast — they deserve a loving home, and it could be yours!  Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. While they are with us, each and every rescue dog receives the best of care in a loving and nurturing environment. Their routines include daily playgroups or partnering with dog buddies, quality time walking or being groomed, and two meals a day with dog biscuits for dessert.    All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.  The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300 (unless a reduced fee applies )  APPLY NOW       August 9, 2026, 6:53 pm
