Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet, Rescueme.org or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Answering the questions below, will help move the adoption prcoess along faster. Meet Hercules, age estimate between 7-9yrs old, neutered, chocolate lab mix. Hercules was abandoned at a business in Yamhill County, he is a very goofy, sweet boy, we were surprised no one came for him. He had some skin issues that took some time to resolve and the fur on his back is still growing in. Hercules is a big boy, weighing in at 93 pounds, he loves tennis balls and chuck-its, he would play fetch all day, well more like he gets the ball, then teases you with it!!! He is housebroken, he listens well, he knows basic commands. He loves everyone, likes to take his time wondering aorund the yard, so he would prefer a private fenced yard. Due to his size, he would not be good for someone who easily falls over, such as toddlers. He ignores our dogs, but would prefer a female dog, close in size, he has not been cat tested. He would love a home where he can be with his owner, a big comfy bed, lost of tennis balls, he is goofy, so laughter will be apart of your day. My adoption fee is $125: Included Neuter, senior blood work,Microchip, vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1lbs bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? Male/female for adults? 3. How many animals, types and male/female for dogs? 4. Do you have the patience to allow Hercules to get comfortable with you? 5. He needs an owner who can take him on walks and play fetch, is this something you can do? 6. He has flea allergy, so he needs good flea medication, is this something you can do?

Story
Bear is a very sweet and lower energy dog. He’s Labrador and we think part of a Mastiff mix but unsure. He is about 2 1/2 years old. He is very well mannered, potty trained, does well with cats, dogs (loves them!) & kids. Does not get on furniture, dig, jump or bark. Only to alert, maybe. He fits through a large dog door and uses it. He came from an abusive/neglectful home. He has some marks on him, now under is new pretty fur. He came here under weight & wary of his surroundings. He’s come a long way. He loves his snacks, Kong bone, his ball, rope toys, and to be around his people. He likes to play & is goofy. He seems like an English Lab in a large breed’s body. He would be a perfect family dog. Likes to be around children and other dogs! He’s patient. He should sleep indoors, because he deserves it. His Neuter appointment is scheduled for late September ($200). Currently in McMinnville. Willing to bring far for his forever loving family.

Story
Pippa is the sweetest dog, We just have medical issues of our own that makes it very difficult for us to give her the attention she needs. Neither of us can walk very far, let alone trying to control an 80 lb excited dog. We have a small unfenced back yard, so letting her out on her own isn't an option either.

Story
Ella has a strong GSP (pointer) personality. She is so loving, loves to hug and rub against you. She is full of energy! I have struggled to leash train her. She is smart and knows most commands but her pointer instinct is strong and she pulls hard when she sees a critter of any kind. She is great with toddlers and kids and our small dog. No concerns with kids. She gets nervous around adult males but this is subsiding significantly the more she is exposed to them. She will bark for about 1-2 minutes then pretty much ignores them. She is friendly to everyone once she is around them. Ella is house trained and kennel trained. She has not had an accident in the six months she's lived with us, except the first couple weeks she came home. She loves to play fetch and loves her toys. She sits. She will wait to eat until I give her a command. She shakes. She will stop barking on command (aside from the initial exposure to a new adult male). She stays off our furniture. Weighs 50lb
