Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet, Rescueme.org or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Answering the questions below, will help move the adoption prcoess along faster. Meet Hercules, age estimate between 7-9yrs old, neutered, chocolate lab mix. Hercules was abandoned at a business in Yamhill County, he is a very goofy, sweet boy, we were surprised no one came for him. He had some skin issues that took some time to resolve and the fur on his back is still growing in. Hercules is a big boy, weighing in at 93 pounds, he loves tennis balls and chuck-its, he would play fetch all day, well more like he gets the ball, then teases you with it!!! He is housebroken, he listens well, he knows basic commands. He loves everyone, likes to take his time wondering aorund the yard, so he would prefer a private fenced yard. Due to his size, he would not be good for someone who easily falls over, such as toddlers. He ignores our dogs, but would prefer a female dog, close in size, he has not been cat tested. He would love a home where he can be with his owner, a big comfy bed, lost of tennis balls, he is goofy, so laughter will be apart of your day. My adoption fee is $125: Included Neuter, senior blood work,Microchip, vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1lbs bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? Male/female for adults? 3. How many animals, types and male/female for dogs? 4. Do you have the patience to allow Hercules to get comfortable with you? 5. He needs an owner who can take him on walks and play fetch, is this something you can do? 6. He has flea allergy, so he needs good flea medication, is this something you can do?

Story
Bear is a VERY sweet and lower energy dog. He’s mainly Labrador & 40% AM Staff (DNA test). He’s about 3 years old. He is very well mannered, potty trained, does well with cats, dogs & kids. Does not get on furniture, dig or jump. He may bark 1, 2x to alert. He fits through a large dog door and uses it. Currently in 900 sqft w yard. He came from a neglectful home, thinner, scars & wary of his surroundings. He’s come a long way. I’d love to keep him, but he deserves a family and other dogs. He loves his snacks, Kong bone, ball, rope toys, stuffies, walks, his bolster bed and to be around his people. He likes to play. He loves to give a paw (in the air) randomly from either paw. He would be a perfect family or retiree dog. Likes to be around children and other dogs! He should sleep indoors, because he deserves it. His Neuter appt is scheduled for late September ($200). Currently in McMinnville. Willing to bring far for his forever loving family.

Story
Pippa is the sweetest dog, We just have medical issues of our own that makes it very difficult for us to give her the attention she needs. Neither of us can walk very far, let alone trying to control an 80 lb excited dog. Pippa would love to be with a person or family with an active lifestyle.

Story
Cocoa is super-smart sweetheart who is frequently stubborn. She tends to be high-energy, with periods of couch potato-ing during the during the day, but after 7:00 PM all she wants to do is snooze and cuddle. She’s always been a healthy girl (no ear infections), but for the past year she has experienced atypical seizures periodically. Her vet has had us monitoring Cocoa and she is not medicated at this time. Why we're rehoming: Cocoa recently decided she no longer wants to get along with our golden retriever. We can’t keep them in the same house, and keeping them separated in our home just isn’t possible without a loss of quality of life for both pups. Although she loves other dogs out in public and at the dog park, I believe she would be best placed in a home where she is the only dog, with a family who can give her their full attention. She's a darling girl who deserves the best. Best suited in a home with tweens or older.
