Tucker

Labrador Retriever

Male, 1 yr 6 mos
Irmo, SC
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
Tucker was emaciated and showing signs of having been locked in a crate when we rescued him from a local shelter. We have promised him a wonderful life.Tucker is energetic and would love a home with someone who is active, big back yard and dog comparable in size to run and play with! A dog who doesn`t want to play may be annoyed by him. He is smart, eager to please and there`s no aggression. He`s food motivated, but doesn`t guard his bowl. Loves to play fetch and is ok crated, but not as a way of life! With training, good exercise and lots of love, he will reward you by being a fabulous family member! Right now, we`d say no toddlers as he may knock them down with his zest for life. 1 yr. 40 lb. Neuter, vaccines, microchip provided. Oh, he loves the water!

Story
Hi, my name is Cash!I’m a big, goofy, sweet-hearted boy who absolutely loves to play and make my people laugh. I’ve got a silly personality and a whole lot of love to give! I’m working on learning to share—toys and food are my favorite things, so I’d do best with an experienced forever family who understands my boundaries and can help me continue my training.I do occasionally have seizures, but they don’t define me or hold me back from living life to the fullest. With a little care and attention, I thrive and bring joy to everyone around me.I may be a big guy, but that just means there’s more of me to love. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s playful, affectionate, and full of character—I might just be your perfect match! My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday are walk in from 10-5. Please fill out the online application, and you will be contacted if you are approved and are a good fit for one of our adoptable pets.

Story
Hi, I’m Kinsley! ??I’m a gentle, easygoing sweetheart who’s still getting the hang of this whole “house dog” thing, but I’m learning quickly! Everyone I meet—men, women, other small dogs—gets a friendly tail wag from me. I haven’t been around kids or big dogs yet, but I’ve been kind and calm with everyone so far.I’m not the wild, bouncy Lab type—think more relaxed and low-to-the-ground like a Basset Hound. I’ve got a mellow personality and would be happiest in a home where I can be both indoors with my people and outdoors enjoying some sunshine.I don’t chew on things I shouldn’t, and I take treats like a lady! I haven’t tried walking on a leash yet, but I’m open to learning new things. If you’re looking for a sweet, laid-back companion to love and grow with, I might be your girl!Let’s meet—I can’t wait to be part of a loving home.Kinsley is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home. Story
Hi there, I’m Howie—a shy guy with a soft heart who’s learning that the world isn’t so scary after all.I used to be feral. Human touch? Leashes? That was all new and overwhelming for me. But I’ve worked hard, and guess what? Now, I let the staff leash me, pet me, and tell me I’m a good boy. I’m still shy with strangers, but once I know you, I’m gentle, friendly, and loyal.I’ve been living onsite for over a year now. I’m completely housetrained and love my crate—it’s my safe place. I also know a few commands like sit, wait, and here. Treats? I take them like a perfect gentleman. Toys? I love to un-stuff them—it’s a talent, really. When it comes to other dogs, I get excited and playful around big ones! I haven’t met any small dogs or kids yet, so I’m not sure how I’d do, but I’d love a calm home with someone patient who can keep helping me feel safe and loved.Walking on a leash still makes me a little nervous, especially in unfamiliar places, but in the yard? I light up! I run, play, and show my goofy side once I’m comfortable. If you’re looking for a quiet, sweet companion who’s made big progress and just needs someone to believe in him, I might be your perfect match. I don’t ask for much—just a little time, kindness, and some fluffy toys to destroy. Are you the one for me?Adoption fee: $50Howie is part of our Home to Home Program. Story
Meet Bruce — a loyal, goofy, and affectionate boy who just needs the right person to help him shine. With the people he loves, Bruce is all about snuggles, cheese, and playtime—fetch, tug, and a good game of chase are his absolute favorites. He’s also super smart and loves puzzles that challenge his brain!Bruce is looking for a very special, patient home. He does not like strangers or other dogs, so he must be the only pet in an adult-only home. He needs someone who will take the time to earn his trust—and once you do, you`ll have a loyal shadow who insists on cuddles and attention. He gets sad when left alone, so his ideal person works from home or has a flexible schedule to visit him during the day. Recently, Bruce has shown signs of progress after shutting down emotionally for several weeks. He’s begun reconnecting with his human friends—even hopping into a trusted staff member’s lap again.Bruce is a work in progress, but with the right match, he’ll thrive. If you`re experienced, patient, and looking for a deep bond with a dog who just needs a chance, Bruce might be your perfect companion. My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Story
Hi, I’m Harley, and let me tell you—I’ve come a long way. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was feral. No one could touch me, and I had no idea what a leash was for (except maybe to run away from). But now? I’ve learned that humans aren’t so scary after all. I let people pet me, leash me, and even tell me I’m a good boy—and I like it.I’ve been onsite for over a year, and thanks to everyone`s patience, I’ve really opened up. I’m fully housetrained and crate trained (I love my crate—it’s like my own little den). I walk great on a leash and get super excited when it’s time to go outside.I love to play with dogs who are my size or bigger—they really get me. Small dogs? Not my vibe. I tend to lunge at them, so a home without tiny pups is best for everyone. I haven’t been around kids or small animals like squirrels or birds, so I’m not sure how I’d do.I can be a little shy when I meet new people—especially men—but give me time and a gentle approach, and I warm up. Once I trust you, I’ll be your quiet shadow, happy to keep you company and share your space. I’m not clingy, but I do like to be near the people I care about.Oh, and toys? I love them—especially if I can de-stuff them. It’s my version of therapy.I already know a few commands like sit, stay, here, and wait. I may have started out scared of the world, but I’m brave now—and I’m ready to find someone who sees how special I really am.Are you that someone?Adoption fee: $50Harley is part of our Home-to-Home Program. Story
Jade was found stray in SC, savaging for food at a rural dumpster. She had a little friend with her and we were able to save her too. Jade has not had a foster home since we took her in mid March so we have not been able to learn much about her. She is in paid boarding, where they say she seems to love affection and her outside play times. She did not behave well when boarded with the female she was found stray with and bit her ear. We would love to find a home for her as your only dog who will get lots of love. She did play with dogs at a local daycare one afternoon and was a little bossy but no aggression. 9 mos old as of April 18.. 39 lb. Spay, vaccines, microchip provided.

Story
Loki was found stray. How could anyone let this boy get away? He would love a fenced yard for playtime and lots of walks/love. He gets along great with the dog in his foster but might annoy a laid back dog who is older. Loves tummy rubs. Best to feed him alone. No small kids or cats please. 3.5yrs old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. 54lb Dog experience would be beneficial. Loki is smart.
