He is good with other dogs, would probably not do well with children and needs a quiet home with someone able to spend a lot of time with him to gain his trust. He will be shy at first so if you are not willing to give him at least a month to start acclimating, he is not the dog for you. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He weighs about 40 pounds. We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. August was rescued from the Atlanta Animal Shelter in August of 2025. He was very sick and needed lots of medical care and love. Since then, he has made a major recovery and is very happy pup. He has lots of energy and loves to play and chase squirrels around. He is house trained and even knows a few tricks! He has some resource guarding behaviors that need to be trained through, as well as some other issues such as jumping and barking. He is currently in behavior training for these reasons. He is house trained and can follow basic commands such as sit, stay, and paw. I have also trained him to eat when commanded. August is a great dog, but he needs an owner that can devote numerous hours of training and outdoor activity. Unfortunately, my new job does not allow me the time to provide such care for him. I am unsure how he acts around other animals or kids. He enjoys other adults, however, has recently shown guarding against large male figures. Please contact me with any questions!
