Super with other dogs, polite and respectful- sweet, gentle and very kind. Chosen by volunteers of all ages and abilities for easy paced leash walks. Super in the car. TV Spot: https://www.wspa.com/your-carolina/furry-friend-friday-january-16/*Notes from Fox Carolina TV time Jan 21: Her tagline is Lobby Doggy! Superbly working in our front lobby area last week for a day, she was in her element greeting peeps and other dogs. Very polite/well mannered and softly nuzzly/loving. She aced being on the set for her interview. TV Link: https://www.foxcarolina.com/video/2026/01/26/four-legged-friends-luna/I`m the new kid on the block dressed for success with my sleek black coat and most adorable white bobby socks.   I thought I had it made with my former person but suddenly he could no longer care for me nor my good friend Opal (taupe bully mix) so here I am hoping YOU notice me.  Fresh on the adoption floor, I`m still tip-toeing around and figuring out things.  Folks have commented that I`m very calm and polite, gentle and sweet natured.  I`ve done well meeting other dogs-  I`m patient and reserved - but glad to meet them.  Easy to manage and easy to leash walk,  folks are just beginning to discover what makes me so awesome/wonderful so stay tuned in to learn more about me and or simply come by and let`s meet in person.  Appreciate your tuning in.  Thx.  LUNAFacebook Update Feb 8: LUNA.Fun little dog.Easy first time pet for a family.House broken and crate trained.Folks, if you`ve not taken notice of what could be the most perfect dog LUNA,  it`s time NOW to give her a second and third look and then ask to meet her!   Our pretty lady has been in foster for a couple of weeks now and has been EXCELLENT!!   Beautifully settling into a home with her 70yr old foster mom,  Luna easily earned a AAA 4 star rating from her mom.  Luna has never met a stranger and is friendly, snuggly, polite and super easy to just hang out with!  She enjoys plush toys, squeaky toys and Nyla bones and is truly content hanging by her person and doing whatev

*Lab Mix*1 yr old; 37lbs*Sweet, friendly, kind and gentle. Great girl for folks spanning the ages. Has done well meeting other dogs but can be picky at times. Loves a good squeaky toy!*Foster Report March 2: Excellent in the home environment. Did great meeting other dogs and regularly hung out with the resident cat! House and crate trained. Errs on being more shy around men initially. How do you spell adorable? We spell it L-E-E-L-A! How do you spell cute? We spell it L-E-E-L-A! You get the idea, right. So what`s all the fuss??? The fuss is all about LEELA! This mid-sized mini labby girl is kind, gentle natured, sweet and pulls on all the right heart strings when you meet. When her human passed away, we were entrusted to match her up with her new family. Just a year old and 37lbs, she`s the ideal size, weight and temperament for most folks spanning the ages. Graced with an amicable, upbeat, can-do attitude, she`s hardly missed a beat since her arrival. Our sunny faced girl has been open to meeting other dogs so in her new home, having a 4 legged to welcome her to her new pet job, might be a good match. Easy to manage and excellent on the leash, everyone is reaching for this girl (staff and volunteers alike), so perhaps you`ll need to take a number and get in Q when you come by to meet her! LOL.Facebook Update March 2: Spotlight on LEELA!! If you`re in the market for a sweet, kind, gentle natured, polite girl who has done well with other dogs and also a foster`s cat,  you need to check out Leela!!  Leela was in a weekend foster and she was terrific.  Her foster noted that while she was initially a little shy and uncertain,  her confidence quickly grew within 24 hrs. Stairs were scary at first but in no time,  she mastered them!  Leela didn`t have much interest in toys or hanging in laps but definitely perked up and enjoyed meeting other dogs.  Quiet and considerate,  she was perfectly mindful of the home environment.  Leela was an easy `first` foster for this Clemson student and we couldn`t have been more pleased to hear how well she did.  She`s now back on site and ready to share her move in pet qualities with YOU!  Note:  1 yr old; 37lbsFoster update: Within 4 hours of being here a neighbor`s cat came for her daily visit. Leela was thrilled. They were nose-to-nose immediately and were soon sharing the deck. This has been a daily ritual.  Leela is most comfortable with having a designated sp

Story
*Retriever Mix*1 yr old; 43lbs*Sweet, friendly, waggy tailed girl. Terrific in doggy play groups. Loves her stuffy toys! *Foster Update 4/26 (back on site now): Symone is doing great! She’s the absolute sweetest, very loving girl. She was the best girl ever to spend the weekend with! She was very good at staying in the house, I never put her in a crate. she just stayed on the couch and hung out when I wasn’t there. Still working on housebreaking but getting there!!!Pretty lady SYMONE is so pleased you`ve stopped to check her out!  We love our mid-sized (42lbs) labby friend and although she`s new on the adoption floor,  lots of folks are already reaching for her.  An owner surrender with her doppelganger sister RAVEN (adopted),  Symone is kind and gentle in her ways and already has proven herself to be a superstar in doggy play groups.  We quickly discovered how much she likes plush toys.  Returning her from one of her walks, the staff had a very poofy bed and pink stuffie toy waiting for her in her kennel.  You should have seen the expression on her face, `Oh boy!!!  That`s for me!!!  YES!!!`   Do come and experience our pretty lady and see for yourself why so many are drawn to her.More about me May 5: It`s easy to reach for our dark brown jacketed girlfriend, SYMONE.  Arriving with her sibling (adopted),  she`s now on her own and making soft, warm, welcoming waves no matter where she goes and no matter who she meets.  Symone wears her heart on her sleeve.  She`s very kind, polite and gentle with her humans.  Take a seat in our play yard area and she`s quick to rest her head in your lap.  Oh, my heart be still!!  On doggy play dates,  she deftly weaves in and out and around everyone- nicely interacting and introducing herself to all.   She`s also pretty tolerant of persistent and perhaps more annoying dogs on a play date so she gets extra credit for her patience and understanding. Recently,  she went off site to visit the local Tractor Supply Co.  Calm and very good in the car,  while she was a little hesitant going in the store, she nonetheless pulled up her slightly shy boots and nicely strolled the aisles shopping for bargains and perhaps some humans to charm.  She really shined at the checkout area as she ever so gently took a treat from the cashier.  Good girl, Symone.   We enjoy our pretty, doting lady and can`t wait to meet her new family.  Might it be you?

Story
Meet Cotton! Cotton is a very high-energy dog and would do well with a big yard and another dog to play with. He would make the best hiking partner, and he loves belly rubs! To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. For more information about CARE and to see our adoption application, go to our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org

Story
*Retriever Mix*1 yr 2 mos old; 62lbs*Sweet, kind natured fella, moments of bashfulness and hints of goofiness! Excellent in doggy play groups. Good in the car. You`ll find a good friend with LOAF by your side. Arriving a little shy, this most handsome fella truly blossoms when he`s loose and running with another like-minded 4 legged. Friendly, social and a face cleaner, Loaf is a very approachable doggy who is polite, mild mannered and ready to softly place his paws in your lap. We can see Loaf getting to work and serving many types of families. Might YOUR family be the right one for him? Please come and check him out today.More about me April 9: I met Loaf the very day he arrived at Oconee. He was so scared and uncertain, and I had heard he was really timid in his kennel too. Today was a completely different experience. The second he was leashed up he was jumping for joy, and as soon as we got outside he walked right over and leaned his whole body into me with this big sigh! Honestly like he was finally taking a deep breath of happiness and peace! He is so treat motivated and we had the best time in the play yard, me breaking treats and tossing them in the grass for him to sniff out. Toys are still new to him but when I got excited about it he genuinely wanted to try. I definitely think he would thrive having another pup companion! He is so willing, so warm, and SO eager to please. You can just feel how much he wants to connect!

Story
*Lab/Husky/Retriever Mix*1 yr 4mos old; 50lbs.*Very friendly, engaging, playful fella graced with a wonderful attitude/outlook. Lost one eye due to a car accident. He is fine in the car but leery of cars driving by him (logically!).*In his prior home, he adored the family cats (loved, loved, loved them!) and also the small resident dog. On site, he`s done great in doggy play groups (mostly larger dogs). Housebroken. Stop the presses!  If you think BLUE BABY looks stunning and striking and most amazing on line,  just wait til you see him in person!   Our head turning friend has an almost mink like coat that shimmers!  Besides his extreme good looks,  this boy has lots of appealing pet tricks up his paw!  In his prior life,  he shared his space with a smaller dog and also cats.  The family reported that he loved, loved, loved cats so very much!  Here on site,  Blue Baby has successfully joined us in doggy play groups and he`s open to larger sized dogs in addition to the small dogs we knew about.  Blue Baby is a happy, friendly faced fella who loves balls and deer antlers.  He knows sit but then quickly goes down.  A true friend to all,  everyone (staff and vols) are reaching for Blue Baby as they find him so attractive but the great news is that we all come back for second and third helpings as he`s such a pleasant natured doggy with a great attitude.  Please experience Blue Baby first hand and you too will be smitten with this wonderful dog!
