Story
Dirk is a 3-year-old bundle of courage, joy, and love who has redefined what it means to thrive. His journey with us began last October when he came in with an injured leg. Despite our efforts to save it, the damage was too severe, and Dirk`s leg needed to be amputated to ensure the best quality of life for him. Since then, Dirk has shown us that three legs are more than enough for him to live his best life. This boy is unstoppable! He runs, he jumps, and he greets us every day with the most heartwarming hugs. His favorite thing in the world? Stuffed animals! Dirk always has one in his mouth and is happiest when he`s surrounded by his plushy collection. When he’s not showing off his playful side, you can find him curled up on the couch, living his best couch potato life. Dirk is loyal, loving, and ready to find his forever family—a family who will celebrate his resilience and spoil him with all the stuffed animals and cuddles he deserves. Dirk is selective with other dogs and prefers dogs that are mellow and won`t jump on him.To meet Dirk, please call 843-249-4948 to schedule an appointment, or you can submit an application at https://humanesocietynmb.org/dog-adoption-form/If you are interested in fostering Dirk, please submit a foster application at https://humanesocietynmb.org/be-a-foster-caregiver/

Story
Meet Brock, a sweet, loyal, people loving boy who we saved when his time was up at a rural shelter. He had lived in a small run for over a year without even being walked. They didn't treat his health conditions, give him play time, or even take him out to clean his run. All of that is in the past now and Brock only looks forward and enjoys life to the fullest. We have treated his ear infection, tick born illness and heartworms and he is happy and ready to start a new chapter! Brock is playful, loyal, fun, silly and listens well. He is good on the leash and keeps his kennel clean. Brock knows basic commands and loves to get love. He is a little clumsy and can be high energy when first taken out so a home without small children may be best, only because he could knock them down. He loves everyone he meets. Brock would love a fenced yard and a playmate, or an active family. He seems to like the female dogs better than other males but plays with both during his doggy daycare and play groups. Brock is available to foster, foster to adopt or adopt! Brock is currently in boarding as we saved him the day he was to be euthanized, and we would love to get him into a home.

Story
Maverick has been updated with vaccinations and is now neutered. We are needing to find him a new home as soon as possible due to some unforeseen changes in circumstances. Maverick’s previous owner is no longer in the picture leaving him with a young woman who is doing her best but has a demanding work and school schedule and cannot manage all on her own. She will be moving out of the apartment soon and needs to find him a new home. Maverick is an active dog who would really thrive with a yard to run in and a family or owner who has time to spend with him. If you have a larger yard and are looking for a loving, playful dog, Maverick could be a wonderful fit. He is eager for attention, playtime, and a home where he can be part of the family.
