Story
LOCATION: Royal Oak, MichiganDOB: 02/17/2023Step into the world of Ed Sheeran, not the singer, but our charismatic, handsome black Lab mix who goes by Eddie! From the moment you meet him, you’re guaranteed a warm reception filled with wagging tails and the happiest of sweet kisses! Eddie is the embodiment of joy and cuddliness wrapped up in a 50lb package! In exchange for a couple cups of dog food per day and a warm/soft bed, he will be your loyal companion who’s always ready to accompany you, whether you’re lounging at home or embarking on an outdoor adventure.Eddie’s impeccable potty training and leash manners make him a dream to have around. He’s sociable and playful, getting along famously with other dogs and enjoying every romp and playdate. He’s a quick learner too, having mastered commands like ‘sit’, ‘wait’, and ‘down’, as well as knowing the perfect spot to sit waiting for the treat jar to be uncovered!Though Eddie may experience a touch of separation anxiety (sometimes barks as he’s missing his foster dads - NOT destructive in any way), he’s making great progress with crate training and learning to enjoy his own space - wanders into his crate on his own and will go in on command (and a dog treat). But make no mistake, this boy thrives on companionship and cherishes being by your side.Adventure is Eddie’s middle name, and his energy on demand makes him the perfect partner for either car rides, walks and games or just chilling on the couch binge watching your favorite TV show. He’s an expert at catching toys mid-air, delighting in life’s simple pleasures. His friendly demeanor extends to cats and other dogs, making him a fantastic addition to a multi-pet household. While Eddie’s heart is big enough for everyone, he’s best suited as the only “kid” in the home, as he prefers the company of adults and older children. But don’t let that deter you; he’s a playful soul with eyes that will melt your heart and antics that will keep you laughing.Eddie is looking for a forever home where he can either be the star of the show, or be part of your existing pack. Bringing laughter, loyalty, and endless cuddles to a family in a child-free zone. If you’re ready for a life filled with joy and a friend who will stick by you through thick and thin, Eddie is your guy. Let’s give this lovable goofball the loving home he deserves! All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt.========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org. Story
Ester is a beautiful young pup, estimated to be between 10-12 months old, with black and white/grey and typical gsp coat. She had a rough start to life but is thriving in our care. Ester was found starving and abandoned, covered in fleas and severely malnourished. Despite her rough start, she has blossomed into a loving and trusting companion. Ester is incredibly confident and playful with both people and other dogs. Her journey to recovery has not dampened her spirit. She is still very petite but has filled in nicely since being found. Social Skills and Behavior: Ester is a high energy pup who loves to play and interact with others. She is affectionate and enjoys the company of people and other dogs. Her playful nature means she sometimes doesn't realize her own strength and has accidentally knocked over toddlers, always looking apologetic afterwards. Despite this, she is gentle and caring, making her a sweet addition to any family. Training and Progress: In the last few months, Ester has shown remarkable progress: - Potty training: She is working on it and making steady improvements. Never poops inside but has trouble holding her bladder for more than a few hours. - Crate training: she is crate trained and enjoys being in her kennel staying quiet for the most part unless she needs to go potty. - Leash training: She walks easily on a leash, making walks enjoyable. Health and Care: Ester has had a few health complications. During her spay surgery, the vet noticed abnormalities. During recovery, her previous foster noticed she was having a hard time holding her bladder while in her kennel. After follow up visits with the vet, they decided an additional exploratory surgery was necessary. The vet discovered her bladder was lined with unknown substance that was hard as bone. Biopsy of the material found came back as unknown and puzzled the vets. After a few rounds of antibiotics she has made a full recovery from her last surgery however still has an incontinence issue and needs to wear a diaper inside and in her kennel out of precaution. Ideal Home: Ester will thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and playtime. Due to her high energy levels and strength, she will do best with a family who can provide her with ample training and supervision. She loves being around people and will be a wonderful companion for a family who can match her playful spirit and give her the love she deserves. If you are looking for a resilient, affectionate, and energetic pup to add joy and excitement to your life, Ester could be the perfect fit. She is ready to find her forever home and share her love and playful energy with a family who will cherish her. Come meet Ester and see if she’s the perfect addition to your family! Foster-to-Adopt is a great way for a trial period with a dog.
