Story
My name is Conrad! I weigh approximately 40 lbs. and I'm one year old. I was turned into the local County Animal Shelter by my previous owner. I don't really know why because I am so sweet! I am fostered in Mount Airy, NC but easy, affordable transportation is available. I love attention and being petted, I am smart and I have a very happy disposition - my tail wags almost constantly! I enjoy playing with other dogs, toys, and of course, people. I get really excited when I see my foster coming back after being gone. I love everybody and I expect everybody to love me! I will need daily exercise. I would be great for a family with children or someone to take nice long walks with. I have plenty of love to give, and I just need a family to give it to! I am ready and waiting to go to my new home! The best method of contact is email. Applications can be found on our website carolinacaninerescuenc.com

Story
This pup is the cutest little cuddle bug and the perfect size! His estimated date of birth is November 22, 2022 and his weight on May 4 was 30 lbs. Barney was neutered on May 10th. He gets along well with everyone- dogs and people.  Barney is food motivated and smart which makes training fun. He has a wonderful, Lab-like, happy-go-lucky personality. Enjoys playing with toys, running in his fenced in yard, snuggling with his foster family and riding in the car.  He is housebroken and crate trained.. Barney gets along great with other dogs and is respectful of cats. One of his favorite activities is to sit on the deck at his foster home with a toy and observe the wildlife and cars that drive by.  He has such a great personality! His foster mom shared: ”Everybody loves him! Barney is super, super happy and friendly. He loves to cuddle. He is the friendliest puppy we have fostered so far. And that face… Adorable!” HIGHLIGHTS: - Super Friendly   - Well socialized - Housebroken - Crate trained & comfortable in the crate - Knows Sit, Down, Wait and working on Recall - Sleeps well through the night - Affectionate & Snuggly - Enjoys playing with other dogs  - Up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines - Is taking monthly heartworm prevention - Has been neutered We do not provide DNA testing which is the only way to know with certainty which breeds are in her genetic background. Our best guess is that he is a Lab mixed with a smaller breed.. We can't guarantee size, but think he will reach about 35-40 lbs as an adult.  Our adoption fee is $400 which includes age appropriate vaccines (such as Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, Rabies), neutering, worming, micro-chipping, and health exam. Discount vouchers for training, grooming and similar dog related products and services are provided.        May 22, 2023, 10:34 pm

Story
Please contact Karen (krun11@sbcglobal.net) for more information about this pet.RUGERRuger is currently being fostered in BENTON, ARKANSAS RUGER is an amazing dog.  He turned 1 year old on 12/17/23, so he's almost 1 1/2 years old, and still so loveable with the puppy still in him.  He is an amazing, incredible puppy dog, so trainable, and so fun! He is HOUSEBROKEN, YAY!!  He has been neutered, had all of his puppy shots, etc... a copy of all meds he received is on a spreadsheet I make - one for you, and one for your veterinarian. Ruger has lots of energy, but he will chill out if you are trying to watch your favorite TV shows.  If you are laying on the couch & want to cuddle with him, all he asks from you are tummy rubs :)  Ruger is just so happy that he was saved and loved. Ruger weighs about 45 pounds.  He has grown into a very intelligent, handsome, loving young puppy/dog, and is probably at his adult weight..  Ruger is very intelligent. I taught him if he would go outside and do his business, then when he came back into the house, he had to 'sit', then 'lie down' then he would get his treat. So NOW he comes in, does 1/2 of a sit, and just plops on down onto the floor. He's a super smarty pants by skipping the 'sit' part. But he will still 'sit' if that's all you say. He is just so smart!! He knows 'sit', 'down', 'out', 'pepe-poopy', 'shake', 'down' and 'off' and he will not jump up on you.  I have neuropathy, and if he jumps up on me, down I go onto the floor.  So he comes in, and immediately sits in front of me, never jumps on me, so then he gets lots of loving :)  Ruger is totally housetrained. He will come to whatever room you are in, then leave, then come back, then leave.  That means he needs to pp or poo. If you do not take or let him out, then there could be pp or poo on your floor  :)  So you should have no problems with him going potty in your house if you just watch him..  Also, if he is on a schedule, that would be ideal.   I've never had him in a crate, just because my hands and feet will not co-ordinate to put one together.  I feel he will be OK in one, because he loves his Igloo outside, and if he's napping, and if I open the door and say 'Come in sweetie', he just looks at me like 'No, I'm comfy and was taking a nap you silly person.' Ruger loves all people - men, women and children -  and loves all the other dogs too, but a female dog close to his age would be best, because he would have a playmate  :)  2 males together tend to bossy, trying to see who's the boss... He also loves being the 'only' dog, so he will fit into any forever home. He has not been around cats, but he will learn that cats are the bosses of him - or - maybe one could be his new best friend! Ruger is one of the most amazing young dogs that I have fostered.  He learns tricks in 15 minutes, and does not forget them.  I use a hand command with every command.    He needs kids to play with, or a very active adult. I was thinking of keeping him, but I can't walk or run or even drive (yet) with these numb feet and legs I have now, and it is not fair to him, because he wants to play with me so badly. His adoption donation is $250 which pays some of the veterinarian bills for all the medical care he has been given. He has been neutered, and has all his puppy shots, rabies, etc... The transport leaves Arkansas on different dates, so they will call and set this up, or I can do it for you.  http://www.TiggersTexasTransport.com is the awesome transport that we use now.  Their transport cost is $200 which is not included in the adoption donation, as we are separate organizations. They will take such great care of Ruger on his way to you and make sure that he arrives safely.   This boy will love you so very much, and be so very loyal to you forever.  He is a great guard dog too.  He barks if you may be at the rear of the house and don't hear someone knocking at the door, or pulling into the driveway. He runs up there, barks, and comes back and looks at you like, 'COME ON!' *These pictures were taken in January.  I will try my best to get new ones, and a video too, hopefully. Please email krun11@sbcglobal.net for an application or for any questions or concerns.   TRANSPORT: ** The transport says go to:  www.google.com/maps and draw the line between Niagara Falls, NY, and NY City, NY, and they deliver beneath that line.  You are welcome to drive if you want to and meet them wherever they say if you drive... you will be provided with their cell numbers, and their email is: email: tiggerstexastransport@yahoo.com We will figure this out together, and with the transport!May 26, 2023, 4:35 pm

Story
Hi! My name is Colden, my foster family calls me “Short Round” because of my cute short little legs. I am very sweet and also have a goofy side to me! I am only 8 months old, so I am full of energy and ready to play! Foster mom says I am doing well with house training, and I am learning so much from my new family, since they are showering me with love and attention. I LOVE my toys and will actually play by myself, literally race through the yard tossing, flinging, chasing whatever toy I have. Mom says I like to take all my toys to my crate and sleep with them! I am also learning how to fetch. I love other dogs and play hard with my foster dog siblings. I also walk well on the leash. I would love to be part of your family. Won’t you give me a chance to be part of your home? Story
Britta is about 10 months old. Britta was very scared and shy when she first arrived but has blossomed now that she understands and is experiencing what a loving home is supposed to be like. Britta can be a little shy with new experiences, although once she knows it is safe, she relaxes and behave like a typical lab puppy. She loves to run and play and really enjoys her dog toys and treats. Britta walks well on a leash and enjoys play time with the other dogs.
