You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, My name is Jet. I've lived at EGHS for many years. I do like to be the 'alpha' dog. So I do better when I'm the only dog. I would give my new adoptive parent lots of love though if you would just give me a chance to show you. I would love to live out my remaining years giving you lots of affection. I'm very loving and like to play on occasion but mostly I like to lounge around.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 9:58 am

Story
Running buddy wanted. I am a gorgeous black lab and shepherd mix, 18 months old, current on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Seeking home with love, good food, and air conditioning for my cool down. I am a little shy at first but love to play and explore. Champ would not be good in a home with small children, as they stress him. High energy, Champ needs a physically active lifestyle with a walker, runner, hiker. He has cohabited well with other dogs in the past but bigger dogs intimidate him.  ##782224##

He's done well with other dogs but he could also go home to be an only pet. Bronx is a such a gentle giant that we often forget he's one of our larger dogs. Story
Hi, I'm Ace, a handsome black and white Great Dane and lab mix. I'm about one and a half years old, 94 pounds, and neutered. I'm looking for a loving and patient family who can give me the home I deserve. I was picked up off the street in Memphis in August 2022 with my mom and siblings. I'm healthy, chipped, and vaccinated. I'm also receiving heartworm treatment, which will be complete in early March 2024. I will be ready for adoption once my treatment is complete. I can’t wait! I have a smooth and shiny coat, webbed feet, perfect white teeth, and beautiful brown eyes. I'm a big boy with a big personality. I'm very friendly with people and dogs, but I can be a bit wary of strangers and little kids. I need some time to warm up to new people, and I prefer older kids who can respect my space and size. I have not been cat tested but I can be if you’d like. I'm house broken and crate trained, and I love going for walks. I'm also food and treat motivated, so you can easily teach me new tricks. I have a naturally well-regulated appetite, and I won't overeat. I do love watermelon, though. It's my favorite snack. I'm a playful and energetic dog who likes tug of war, chasing butterflies, and being chased. I also enjoy getting belly rubs, but I'm not super cuddly. I'm left-pawed, by the way. I'm a destroyer of soft toys, so I need hard toys, bones, horns, and the like to keep me entertained. I'm currently in foster care in Fayetteville, NC, but I can travel to nearby states for the right family. I'm ready to find my forever home and reach my full potential. If you think you're the one for me, please apply. You must be 21 or older to do so. I can't wait to meet you!

Story
I got Jax through a friend who could not keep him as a puppy in 2018. He was no more than 5 months old and had a bobbed tail. He is now 6 and half years old. I believe he is a lab/shepard/chow mix. He is intelligent dog, sometimes to smart for his own good. He is very loving and overly protective. He would do well with some room to run and or a job to do. Do not know what that job would be but he does not get tired or winded very easy. Always alert and has actually protected us from an intruder to our home once. He is fixed and up to date as of January on all of his shots. The decision for rehoming does not come easy but he doesn’t not get along with our much older dog and cause anxiety for the older one. It’s not fair to either dog and we have tried to make things work. So if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. Again he is a very loving and protective dog and would do great with a big yard! Thank you
