Story
Meet Justin! Justin is brand new to the shelter, and we believe that he is a young Lab/Shepherd mix, probably under a year old. Justin was found as a stray with his companion Hailey. They are a bonded pair, and therefore are ideally looking for a home together. Justin is a silly, goofy young pup with a lot of playful energy. But at the same time, he really depends on Hailey's company for comfort -- he gets a little anxious when she's not nearby. These two sweethearts are looking for their forever home, could it be with you? If you have the love and space in your heart for these active sweet babies, please reach out! They are waiting anxiously to meet you. If you're interested in Justin, come visit the shelter or send an email to adoptpetersburg@gmail.com and include "Justin" in the subject line.

Story
The king of expressive looks and head tilts, Bufred is poised to win your heart! Bufred loves to play and run outside but he’s quick to settle in and get comfy once inside. He loves affection and will lay his big, handsome head in your lap for a good snuggle sesh on the couch. This sweet boy is happy going for walks, playing in the yard, relaxing at home, pulling every single toy out at one time, and taking naps on his back. Bufred is house trained, is getting very good at “come” and improving with “sit,” walks well with minimal pulling, and is an excellent car rider. At 5-6 years of age, Bufred is just the sweetest boy who loves human attention but can take some time warming up to some men. He is less comfortable around pushy, high energy dogs. He will tolerate other dogs, vocalizing his feelings when needed, but mostly he’s indifferent and co-existing. Bufred hasn’t lost touch with his natural instincts and has a fairly strong prey drive. He’ll do best in a home with no other types of pets he could chase. It’s hard not to fall for Bufred’s loving, silly charm! He’s a fast learner and eager to please. He’ll thrive in a home in a low-traffic neighborhood with a yard and patient humans who can help him adjust as he grows to become your most loyal and loving family member. If you open your heart and home to this big fella you will be rewarded with love and laughter for years to come! Must knows: Bufred, 5-6 year old black male, 87 lbs Dog friendly No cats Kids unknown Medium energy level

Story
Single yellow female seeking furever home. I’m a playful, energetic 1.5 year old female looking for a home with a backyard and maybe even a canine companion. My favorite first date would definitely involve food because I am very food-motivated. Please swipe right on me! I have been staying in my crate during the work day and then am ready to have fun when you get home. My favorite activity has been wrestling and playing with my foster canine brother. I also love walks! I am easy to walk and wag my tail at other dogs to let them know how friendly I am. I am both house-trained and crate-trained. I sit pretty for a treat and can entertain myself with an antler or bone. I am a little more cautious when new people come into the house, but I warm up to them shortly and then reward them with love and kisses. And I have lots of love and kisses to offer my future lifetime companion, too! If you swipe right on me, I’ll follow you around the house. After a walk or playtime, I’ll roll over on my back with my head in your lap so we can play patty-cake! And then I’ll cuddle up in your room for the night. Haven’t you always wanted to fall in love with a young blonde female? Swipe right on me to make your dreams come true! Must Knows! Molly , 1.5 year old Yellow Female, 65lbs Dog friendly, yes Cat friendly, unknown Loves to play Kids, 8+ Loves Attention Enjoys walks High Energy

Story
Hiya friends, my name is Gus. I am a playful one year old dog’s dog and I really love to play with other four legged friends! Playing chase and wrestling with my K-9 buddies is the highlight of my day. I can be a little nervous in new situations and need just a little time to warm up. I will try my very best if you give me lots of encouragement. I am more confident when I’m with my buddies. A quick “you got this, Gus!” is the key to my heart. I am so excited to meet my forever family so they can teach me everything I need to know. I am very dog friendly and submissive - I really enjoy their companionship. My new house is required to have a pup friend for me so I can gain lots of confidence! I also am cat friendly - I am the most loving guy once I settle in. When meeting new people I can be a little timid but I have been told, I am a gentleman! I have been learning a lot with my foster family and have almost mastered “sit!” I am food motivated. This is good because it will help me during training. As the resident good boy, I have been described as submissive, loveable and playful. I love to be around my people, go for adventure walks, play with toys and other pup friends. MUST KNOW: Gus, 1 year old, male Dog friendly - required to have a buddy Cat friendly Kid friendly, 8+ Medium energy
