Story
2 years and 6 monhs, approx 35lbs :: Special Adoption: Very shy and skittish with people and new environments due to previous neglect. Needs an experienced and patient adopter, ideally with other dogs in the home:: Dogs: does great with just about any dog. Has lived with dozens. Cats: likely fine Kids: because of skittishness, we recommend older kids or no kids so that doors aren't left open or leashes aren't dropped leading to a very difficult dog to trap New People: fearful but not mean. 8 dogs came in from a neglect situation. They were not interacted with much and so people are less familiar for all of them. Not aggressive or mean, just uncertain and skittish Ankylo barks as his initial greeting, but he quickly comes up to see what you have. Whether it is for food or pets, he is cautious and gentle. He loves both and he wants to be your friend, but it will take time and patience. Ankylo enjoys playing with others and has done great meeting other dogs. He has completely filled out now and is so ready for his forever home. Don't let his barking fool you, he is a sweet man looking for love. He is still nervous and uncomfortable, but has gained his voice and plays some with with the others from his group. He has met other dogs decently. He is gaining weight and eating well.April 18, 2024, 12:04 pm

Story
Tok is the best puppy you could ask for! He is so mellow, sweet and loving. The rare mild tempered puppy. He of course still loves to play and be an energetic puppy at times. Great with dogs, cats and kids. Tok has had several things happen since he has been in our care, but he has endured and persevered through them all. He just needs a loving attentive home to keep him safe (and make sure he doesn't swallow his toys).April 18, 2024, 12:04 pm

Story
Oscar was found extremely emaciated, covered in ants, fleas, ticks, etc. He could barely stand and every bone in his body was practically visible underneath his skin. He was kept by a foster to nurse him back to health but has now gained weight, is playing, happy to meet new people and obviously he LOVES to eat. He does well with playful dogs but is too rough with smaller dogs. He loves to play and is GREAT FRIENDS with a great dane fella. He meets strangers well and is food motivated enough to train so easily. He is young, handsome, and eager.April 18, 2024, 12:04 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Calliope was found in a pile of leaves at a dumpster, severally emaciated. We don't think she hasn't had much 'positive' in her life... but oh boy does she love to be loved on. She feels overwhelmed at the shelter. She hears all the barking and it feels like it's all barking directed towards her, so sometimes she tries to sound big and tough, too. Calliope is a 'rough and rowdy' player with her dog friends. She loves warm dog beds, individual attention and love, and playing fetch and playing with people with toys, and carrying her toys with her like a security blanket. Dogs: playful and wrestles, prefers males at the shelter but with time would be fine with other friendly dogs. Cats: not suitable based on shelter testApril 18, 2024, 12:04 pm
