Story
Heartworm Prevention is given on the 12th of each month Hi, I'm Eunice. I'm 8 to 10 years old, brown and tan, and my foster parents think I'm cute and sweet. Unlike many doxies, I’m pretty quiet: I don't bark at the doorbell or visitors, but I do like to give visitors a good sniff. I have several favorite places to sleep. At night I have a nice bed in my foster’s bedroom with lots of blankets to burrow under. During the day you can find me in my other bed in the office with my foster mom, in my favorite chair in the den (it has doggie stairs!), or in my nighttime bed. I’m good with sleeping in and tend to wake up at the same time as my foster parents. Once they are up, I am ready for breakfast. Foster mom has figured out my favorite foods and I am a really good eater. Foster mom takes me out several times a day to potty. I sometimes use the doggie door by myself, but occasionally forget and potty inside. I love to go outside with my people and just hang out with them. When I first spotted a squirrel under the bird feeder, I went over to make friends, and it climbed a tree. Since then, the squirrels and I pretty much ignore each other. I have heartworms, managed with monthly medication. Due to heartworms, I avoid going on long walks. I also have some missing teeth, so I get soft food and soft treats. I love cuddling with my foster parents at night on the couch. Foster mom is my favorite, and I follow her around everywhere. I sometimes get upset when she leaves and cry at the door to the garage for a few minutes. Then I curl up where I can see the door and wait for her return. I avoid small children as they scare me. I get along with some dogs, but at my age, puppies are too energetic for me. I'm seeking a family that will love me as much as I love them. Will you let me love you?  If interested in giving this beautiful girl her forever home, please complete an application at www.ctdr.org. Story
Heartworm Prevention is given on the 27th of each month China is a new arrival to CTDR.  This sweet girl was part of an 80 dog breeding- hoarding situation.  She is very scared and nervous as she cannot understand what is going on. China has completed her initial vetting but sadly she did test positive for those nasty heartworms and will need to go through treatment before she can be adopted. She is a big girl and will need to go on Weight Watchers to lose a few pounds.  If you would like to add China to your family, please complete an application at www.ctdr.org. Story
Heartworm Prevention is given on the 18th of each month  UPDATE:   Daisy is an absolute sweetheart.   She is however, despite her 14 years, very energetic.  She needs a good walk everyday, at least some sort of exercise.   She is house trained and good about barking when she wants outside to go potty.   She immediately calms down when you pet her.   She just soaks up love.   I would recommend her in a home as the only dog as she is the Alpha in my household with my senior dog.   She does get a little chaotic at meal time.  Most likely she's had some competitive situations around feeding times in her past life.   She goes to bed regularly at about 9pm but she does start barking at 5am to go out and go potty.  I can usually let her out and she'll come back inside, get some water and is good about going back to bed for 1-2 hours.  Let's welcome Daisy Duke to CTDR.  This senior lady was abandoned at a pet sitters for months and then posted on line for free.  She was picked up as the person getting her did not want her to get in the wrong hands. Now that Daisy is in Rescue, she will begin the vetting process.  She has had some of her vaccines and is spayed and microchipped.  If you are interested in giving this sweet senior lady a place to live out her golden years, please complete an application at www.ctdr.org.
