Story
Meet Bastet! If your dream dog is BIG, fluffy, goofy, and completely convinced she is a lap dog, you need to meet Bastet! Bastet is a 100-pound Great Pyrenees mix with a giant heart to match. She is a young girl with that wonderful big-dog combination of sweet, silly, affectionate, and wonderfully wiggly. She gets so excited when people are around, and the second you start petting her, all those wiggles turn into a giant dog who completely melts into your hands. Her foster family describes her perfectly: a giant ball of love. Bastet loves people and wants to be included in whatever her humans are doing. She thrives on attention, cuddles, and having someone around to interact with. She also loves having a canine friend to play with and has lived successfully with other dogs as well as three cats. She has also spent lots of time around her 6- and 8-year-old niece and nephew. And despite being approximately 100 pounds of puppy, Bastet is a very smart girl! She knows “sit” when she can contain her excitement long enough to do it, and she loves toys, ropes, balls, stuffed animals, sticks, and pretty much anything she can grab to get your attention. She has a high, playful puppy energy and loves to run and play. Bastet is housetrained, has no history of biting or attempting to bite people or animals, and does not lunge at dogs or people while on leash. She enjoys being around other dogs and has had positive experiences with both dogs and cats. She does enjoy chasing rabbits, though, so her future family should appreciate that a giant Pyr mix may have some opinions about the local wildlife. This big girl is looking for a home where she can be part of the family, get plenty of attention, and finally have the companionship she loves so much. If you have always dreamed of a giant dog who will happily soak up your affection and then turn into a 100-pound pile of wiggles, Bastet may be your girl. Bastet is ready for her people — preferably the kind of people who have always said, “Nope, that’s not too big. I want the REALLY big dog.”   ##2860108##
