Story
Andre is a 10 lb Japanese Chin with a shy but curious personality. He may take a little time to feel comfortable in new environments, but with patience and gentle encouragement, his curiosity begins to emerge. Andre does best when he’s allowed to move at his own pace and given the space he needs to build trust. He is looking for a patient adopter who can provide a calm, relaxing home where he can feel safe and secure. Andre would thrive in a peaceful environment with predictable routines and plenty of quiet time to unwind. Andre requires another confident dog in the home to help show him around and provide reassurance as he adjusts. To ensure the best match for everyone, any meet-and-greets with dogs already in the home will need to take place at the shelter. With patience, understanding, and the right canine companion, Andre has the potential to blossom into a devoted and loving friend. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
