Gizmo was found as a stray on the streets of Aurora. He was full of fleas and scared. He nipped at his rescuer. Gizmo does great in a quiet home with one or two people. We will not put him in a home with small kids. Gizmo has been great at using the outside for his business. He is not happy in the bathtub. We are making sure that we go slow in the tub. Gizmo is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken if let out regularly, and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! Frodo is a 10-year-old Lhasa Apso with a heart as big as his personality. This sweet little guy (just 13 lbs!) is great with other dogs, walks nicely on leash, and loves being with his people. He is also great with kids. He was found as a stray and was not reclaimed. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and dewormed. Frodo does have a heart murmur (grade 5/6), but it doesn’t slow him down one bit — he’s full of life and ready to share it with his forever family. Ready to give this boy his happy ending? We have received 7 pups/dogs from California!  Many thanks to those who helped support, coordinate and worked so diligently to arrange their safe arrival - Giuliana Rancic for supporting the mission, Wings of Rescue for the safe flight and to "Paws To Life" in California for the coordination! Snowflake is an approximately 8 years old guy who weighs right near 15-16lbs!  He is getting settled into his foster home and more information will be coming soon! We recommend obedience training for all dogs! **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent.  **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Please ensure that your current pets are up to date with vetting, have landlord/HOA approval and are prepared to take your new family member home at the adoption appointment. This little guy is full of charm, always up for some time in the play yard, and never says no to attention from his favorite volunteers. He’s friendly, social, and has a big personality packed into a compact body. Banjo’s story hasn’t been an easy one. After being found on the streets and fully vetted by our team, we searched for his owners for months. Just as he was about to be adopted, his previous owners came forward. Sadly, a year later, Banjo was found on the streets again, and we were called to take him back into our care. His former owners, currently without stable housing, agreed it was best that Banjo find a safe, secure forever home. Due to past food insecurity, Banjo can be food-aggressive with other dogs. He’s shown no aggression toward people and does well with small dogs, but may be a bit pushy with larger ones. With a bit of patience and structure, Banjo has all the potential to thrive. He would love to be an only dog to one person.  Banjo is now safe, healthy, and ready for a brighter future. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s ready to be truly home for good, Banjo could be your perfect match. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. Story
Genevieve is a girl who was burdened with a rough start in life. She was removed from an unsanitary hoarding environment with 4 other dogs who were all matted, terrified, unsocialized, and in overall terrible condition. Since joining the CRA family, the rest of the dogs she arrived with have all been adopted and are thriving in forever-families, but Gen is still waiting. She is hesitant when meeting new people and her uncertainty makes it hard to immediately see the huge personality hiding beneath the surface. Once she bonds with someone, she is loyal, full of love and energy, and downright comical. She bounces like a bunny, prancing around your feet and smiling like a goofball. She is generally not big on constant touch, but she wants to be near her person whenever she can and she is a master splooter. She had no foundational skills when she came to us, but has come a long way with potty training and is comfortable in a crate. She has made many dog friends during her time with us, but she lacks confidence when initially meeting friends and can be a little... dramatic when she's not sure what a dogs intentions are toward her. We have not seen her interact with cats, but it can be expected that she would be similarly dramatic about meeting cats as well. Gen is being fostered currently in Chicago and is available for adoption in or within 3 hours of Chicago. Gen's adoption fee includes her spay, up to date vaccines and prevention (flea, tick and heartworm), heartworm negative, and microchip.
