DOB: 2/12/17               Approx. Weight: 12 Lbs Adoption Fee: $ 250 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! My name is Sukie.  I used to be a mama dog for a breeder.  I was released when I was too old to have more babies.  When I was spayed, I also had 21 teeth removed!  Don’t worry, I can still eat dry kibble.  I am a happy girl who loves being close to people, lying down in the sunshine, and being outside on a pretty day.  I am still being potty-trained, but I am doing better every day.  I don’t mind living with cats.  I have a foster sister that I like to snuggle with and a neighbor dog that I am always happy to see.  Please come meet me.    I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.   Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
We believe Sidney is about 14 years old. Sidney was found as a stray about 13 years ago and lived with my mother -in-law for 10 years and was a great companion for her. We have been caring for Sidney for 3 years as my mother-in-law had to move to memory care. He is a great companion for an older person. I would not recommend a home with small children. He likes a slower pace. He is a senior dog in good health, vaccines up to date and recently groomed. He does require grooming about every 6 to 7 weeks to look his best. My husband and I recently retired and have multiple long trips planned and would love to find Sidney a good home as he will be boarding a lot. Boarding is stressful for him and it was not in our plan to own a pet at this stage in our lives. Sidney is a good walker, never pulls at the leash. He has lived with a cat and really just ignored the cat, didn't bother him.
