Sometimes rescue asks us to listen — not to policies, not to preferences — not to what we “normally” do…but to the dogs themselves. We believe most dogs can thrive independently with the right support. Often, they don’t need each other; they just need “someone”. ✋ But Polly and Popcorn are the exception. Popcorn went in for surgery today. And for 7½ hours, Polly was completely inconsolable. 👉 She paced endlessly. 👉 She shook uncontrollably. 👉 She whined, barked, and cried. 👉 She searched. 👉 She was visibly distressed — not anxious, not unsettled — heartbroken 💔 She could not rest. She could not be comforted. Even though she was surrounded by dog friends, it didn’t matter…she could not understand why part of her was gone. And then Popcorn came back. The moment he returned, Polly climbed into bed with him. She gently licked his face. She wrapped herself around him like she was making sure he was real - that he was safe - that he wasn’t leaving again. Within minutes, they were asleep together. ☮️ 💐 Peace restored. Her world is right again. We have seen a lot in rescue. We do not make decisions like this lightly. But after today, it is clear: separating Polly and Popcorn would cause real emotional harm. For Polly especially, being without Popcorn is not just uncomfortable — it is devastating. So with full hearts and absolute certainty, we are asking for something special. ✨✨✨ Polly (9 yrs) and Popcorn (3 months) must be adopted together. They are not just companions. They are comfort. They are safety. They are home for each other. If you believe in love that looks like this — quiet, fierce, unwavering — 💗💗💗 If you have room in your heart and your home for two souls who belong together, these 2 need you. Because sometimes, the greatest act of rescue is simply not tearing love apart. If you would like to give them BOTH a home, just fill out an application at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. Their combined adoption fee is $500 and includes their spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Meet-and-Greets can be scheduled with Approved Adopters. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤
