Story
Max's owner had to go into a nursing home, and no one in the family would take him. So, he was turned into a very full municipal shelter and since we know that a little guy like this would make a terrific companion, we decided to take him in. He would be a great little guy for any family. He walks great on a leash and is housebroken. He's super sweet and ready to find his new forever family. If you think you would like to adopt Max, please click on the button that says "Ask About Me" and we will be happy to send you an adoption application. Max is being fostered in TN, but we can transport him to a destination near you. The transport fee is included in the adoption fee. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road. Meet Potato! 🥔❤️ Potato is an adorable 5–7-year-old, approximately 20-pound Lhasa Apso mix looking for his forever home. Potato is deaf, but that doesn’t stop this sweet little guy from enjoying life and soaking up love. He simply experiences the world a little differently and will do best with a family who is patient, understanding, and willing to communicate with him through routine, hand signals, and touch. Potato is not demanding at all. What he really wants is to be near his people. A cozy spot on the couch, a soft bed nearby, and the comfort of knowing his family is close would be pretty much his idea of heaven. ❤️ We would love to find Potato a home where he won’t have to spend long periods alone. He doesn’t need constant attention—he just wants companionship and to be included in everyday life. Potato may be a little different, but he has so much love to give. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who would happily curl up beside you, Potato may be your guy. 🐾🥔

Story
Meet Dutch and Feisty...a bonded pair of 10 year old sweethearts looking for a loving home together. They have spent their lives together, and their bond is special. Dutch, the handsome gentleman, is the leader of the duo, while Feisty is his devoted sidekick who loves to follow his lead. Together, they are a loving, cuddly pair who find comfort and happiness in each other. Both dogs are friendly with people and other dogs, and they aren't big barkers. They have wonderful, gentle personalities and would love a home where they can enjoy the simple pleasures of life: cozy naps, cuddles, companionship, and being loved. Sadly, their owner had to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender them to PetRescue due to financial difficulties. It was clear these two had been very loved. When they arrived we treated them to a spa day to help them feel fresh, comfortable, and ready for their next chapter. At 10 years old, Dutch and Feisty deserve a soft place to land and a family who understands that love doesn't have an expiration date. They have spent 10 years side by side, and we hope they can spend their golden years the same way: together. Can you give Dutch and Feisty the happily ever after they deserve? Adopt them together... double the love and cuddles...one beautiful bond. Be sure to complete our application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
I got Teddy from a shelter in Texas in March. My living situation is changing for a few months, so if you'd only want to foster him that's fine too. He is super sweet. He knows to go outside for potty. He will bark at strangers so a quieter home is ideal. He may take some time getting used to you. Because of his rescue background he has some anxiety. But he loved to curl up with you and play whenever!

Story
🩵 Meet Chavvo (aka Beans!) — A Tiny Boy With a Big Heart and a Whole New World to Discover! 🩵 Approximately 10–12 months old | 12 lbs | Male | Possible Bichon Frise/Poodle Mix | Full of Energy and Love Chavvo's story is heartbreaking, but the best part is that his story is no longer about what he's endured. It's about everything wonderful that still lies ahead. ❤️🐾 This little boy has spent almost his entire life without the love, care, and attention every dog deserves. Now, for the first time, he's discovering just how beautiful life can be. And let us tell you, he's READY to live it! 💔 A life no puppy should ever have to endure Chavvo was born in Mexico, where he spent approximately 90% of his life alone inside a home infested with feces and roaches. People came and went, but only one person paid him much attention. Sadly, that person passed away when Chavvo was around five months old. After that, he was left with little to no human contact. No adventures. No walks. No playtime. No grooming appointments. No vet visits. Just a tiny puppy growing up in a world that had seemingly forgotten him. We heard about Chavvo through word of mouth and offered multiple times to help, but his owners refused to surrender him. Eventually, we were able to secure him, although they wanted $100 for him. They didn't seem concerned about where he went, as long as they got their money. So we paid it. Because his life was worth it. ❤️ And that was the beginning of everything changing. ✂️ A fresh start, from the inside out When Chavvo first came into our care, his coat was severely matted, twisted tightly against his skin. It was so bad that he had to be completely shaved down. His skin was red and irritated, and his coat was full of feces, urine, and who knows what else. To make matters worse, one of his nails had curled around and grown into his paw pad. We made sure that was taken care of immediately. He had never even been to a groomer or a veterinarian before. And here's another heartbreaking detail: the people who had him had forgotten his name. His foster gave him a new name: Chavvo! Some of us initially thought she said Charro, so a few of us lovingly call him Beans. 😂🩵 Once his painful, matted coat was gone, Chavvo looked at himself in the mirror. We can only imagine what was going through that little head of his, but we'd like to think he knew something had changed. That his old life was behind him and a new one had begun. He may look a little naked right now, but we can promise you he's feeling so much better! As his coat grows back, we expect him to become one absolutely gorgeous little boy. Just remember that his beautiful coat will require regular professional grooming throughout his life. 🩵 The most amazing surprise? He LOVES people! After everything Chavvo has been through, you might expect him to be afraid of people or reluctant to trust them. But this little guy? He is absolutely THRILLED to be around humans! He gets so excited about practically everything. A person giving him attention? AMAZING! Something new to explore? INCREDIBLE! A chance to be included in whatever you're doing? BEST. DAY. EVER! He is discovering the world with the enthusiasm of a puppy who has just realized how much fun life can be. And honestly, watching him experience these simple joys is one of the most rewarding parts of his journey. Chavvo has so much love and happiness inside that little body. He just needs someone willing to help him learn how to navigate his brand-new life. 🐶 He LOVES other dogs! Despite having very little interaction with other animals during his early life, Chavvo absolutely adores other dogs! He wants to meet every dog he's introduced to and is so excited to make friends. He's still learning appropriate social manners, though, and his enthusiasm can be a little overwhelming for dogs who prefer a calmer introduction. We believe having a friendly, confident, well-socialized dog in his future home could be incredibly beneficial. Another dog could help him learn routines, canine communication, and all those wonderful things that dogs teach each other. ⚡ A little dog with A LOT of energy! Chavvo has spent much of his young life confined indoors, with very little opportunity to run, play, explore, or simply be a puppy. Now that he has the chance, he is making up for lost time! This boy has energy to spare, and he's still learning what to do with it all. He'll need a family prepared to provide daily exercise, playtime, enrichment, and positive training to help him channel that enthusiasm into healthy habits. He is still a baby in so many ways. Although his body is nearly full-grown, he's missed out on important early experiences that help puppies learn about the world. He will need patience, consistency, and gentle guidance as he learns things other dogs may have taken for granted their entire lives. Household routines, leash manners, boundaries, basic commands, and settling down when it's time to relax may all be new concepts for him. His future family must be prepared to teach him, encourage him, and celebrate the little victories along the way. Chavvo isn't a finished product. He's a little soul who is just beginning to discover who he can be. 🩵 🏡 What kind of home does Beans need? Chavvo needs a family who understands that love is only the beginning. He will also need time, training, structure, and a commitment to helping him grow into a confident, well-mannered companion. His ideal home would offer: • A patient family who understands that he is learning many everyday skills for the first time. • Plenty of exercise and enrichment, including walks, playtime, sniffing opportunities, and adventures. • Positive, consistent training to help him develop good manners and learn how to settle. • A friendly canine companion, if possible, who could help him learn and enjoy appropriate dog-to-dog interaction. • Lots of human companionship. After spending so much of his life alone, Chavvo deserves to be included in family life and given opportunities to build healthy bonds. • A lifelong grooming commitment. His coat will need regular brushing and professional grooming to prevent painful matting from returning. • Chavvo may be a possible Bichon Frise/Poodle mix, and his coat may have lower-shedding characteristics. However, no breed or coat type is truly guaranteed to be hypoallergenic, it’s only an estimate. At just 12 pounds, he's a little guy with a whole lot of personality. He may be small, but his excitement for life is absolutely enormous! 🌎 Just imagine the life he could have... Imagine Chavvo discovering the beach for the first time. Imagine him running through the grass, playing with a doggy friend, learning new tricks, and going on little adventures with his people. Imagine him having a soft bed, toys of his own, regular meals, a comfortable home, and a family who never forgets his name. Imagine him being groomed regularly, receiving veterinary care whenever he needs it, and growing up knowing that he is safe. These are such ordinary things for many dogs. But for Chavvo, they are opportunities he has barely had. He has already shown us something truly special: despite a life that gave him very little reason to trust the world, he is excited to embrace it. He wants to meet people. He wants to make friends. He wants to play, explore, and be part of something. He just needs someone to show him the way. 🩵 Can you give Chavvo the life he has never had? Chavvo's past cannot be changed. We can't give him back the puppyhood he missed or erase the neglect he endured. But we can help give him a future filled with kindness, security, adventure, and love. He deserves a family who sees beyond his current haircut and his still-developing manners. A family who sees a bright, happy, affectionate young dog with so much potential. Someone who will laugh at his silly antics, patiently teach him the ropes, take him places he's never been, and help him discover all the wonderful things the world has to offer. Someone who understands that the most rewarding dogs aren't always the ones who arrive knowing everything. Sometimes, they're the ones who blossom because someone finally gives them the chance. Chavvo has spent his first months surviving. Now it's time for him to start living. 🐾🩵 Could you be the person who gives Beans his happily ever after? Please help us find this handsome little boy the loving, patient, forever home he's been waiting for. His whole world is just beginning, and we cannot wait to see how beautifully he blossoms. ❤️ PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING: The next step to adopt is to fill out an application on our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org Charro is neutered, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and has received a clean bill of health from a veterinarian already.
