Story
Meet Flufferkins! Flufferkins is a 13 lb, 6 year old Bichon Frise. She spent the first half of her life being bred at a puppy mill. She is learning that people are safe and is coming out of her shell. Flufferkins hasn’t learned the joy of toys or playing yet. With some patience a confident dog in the home, she will learn. In terms of house training, Flufferkins has learned to go outside when the door is opened and comes back in when it’s time. She will need routine and rewards to help her get it down. Flufferkins tends to hang around her crate, especially when she is nervous. She has slowly widened her area of exploration as she gets more comfortable. Flufferkins is waiting for someone who will give her an amazing second half of her life. She will love you endlessly in return. Flufferkins is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Eclair is a tender-hearted 1-year-old, 15 lb Bichapoo (Bichon & Poodle) who is still learning that the world isn't as scary as it seems. Everything around her feels new and overwhelming, and her first instinct when frightened is to find a safe place to hide. Eclair will need a patient and compassionate adopter who understands that trust takes time. She is not yet comfortable with walking on a leash. Sudden movements or unfamiliar situations can cause her to panic and run. A secure, fenced yard is essential to keep her safe while she continues to build confidence. Eclair would thrive in a quiet home with a confident, gentle dog who can help guide her and show her that life can be safe and predictable. When she's feeling curious, she has the most adorable head tilt that gives a glimpse of the sweet, gentle dog she is becoming. Eclair is looking for a calm, committed home willing to let her grow at her own pace. For the right person, helping her come out of her shell will be incredibly meaningful and rewarding. Eclair is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Beignet is a delicate little soul who is just beginning to discover that the world can be a safe and kind place. This 1-year-old, 12lb Bichapoo (Bichon & Poodle) is still learning how to be a dog. New sights, sounds, and people can feel overwhelming to her. She will need a patient and understanding adopter who is willing to move at her pace. Beignet is not the kind of dog who will immediately run up for cuddles - but with time, consistency, and gentle encouragement, she will slowly begin to trust. Watching her take those small, brave steps is incredibly rewarding for someone who understands shy dogs. She would do best in a quiet home with a confident, friendly dog who can help show her the ropes and build her confidence. A secure, fenced yard is important as she is not yet comfortable on a leash and will try to retreat if frightened. Beignet is looking for a calm, committed home that will give her the time she needs to blossom. In return, you'll get to witness a truly special transformation as she learns what it means to feel safe and sound. Beignet is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Max and Sophie.  They are a bonded pair of Bichon Frise mixes that are 11 years old.  They are litter mates that have been together their entire lives.  Max and Sophie have just lost the only home they have known when their owner moved into a nursing home. This sweet duo are looking for a loving person who will adopt them together.   They keep each other company, so they are easier than having only one dog!Max weighs 9.6 pounds and is in good health.  Sophie weighs 9.2 pounds and is also in good health except she is partially blind due to cataracts. (She can see light and dark, just no detail).  Both are neutered and UTD on their vaccines.  They are scheduled for a dental cleaning on June 9 which will be covered by the rescue. These two are sweet and friendly as can be.  They cuddle together like two peas in a pod when they sleep at night.  They love to go on walks!  Sophie charges ahead on her lead, she doesn't seem bothered at all by her limited sight!  Once she learns where everything is in her home, she will maneuver around just fine.  They both LOVE being outside in their foster's fenced yard....so many things to smell and the sunshine feels great!  Max is the more outgoing of the pair.  Both are cuddle bugs that want to be with their person.  They are very friendly pups.FOSTER UPDATE:  After 2 weeks with us, Sophie has graduated with honors in house training!!  Max still occasionally wants to lift a leg in the house so he gets a B-.  Both of them have made huge gains in this important area.  We are very proud of them!! Can you provide a loving home for Max and Sophie?  Fill out an application and let's get the ball rolling!***Max and Sophie are eligible for our Senior to Senior adoption program.  If the adopter is over 60 and uses our vet, the rescue will cover their vet bills.  You provide the home, food, toys and LOVE.  Frankies Furry Friends will pay their vet bills.  This special program is a WIN-WIN for everyone.Adoption Fee to defray vet costs:  $100Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2026, 4:15 pm

Story
Chase & Gizmo are littermates and BFF's. They are very loving and love laying on the couch or bed with you. They are house trained, however, due to our busy schedules, they can have accidents and no fault of their own. Which is why I am looking to rehome them. We got them during the pandemic and we were constantly home. But now that my girls are at school or working and my wife and I have extremely busy schedules, they are not as free as they once were. They are crated often while we are away or in the play area and deserve more human interaction than we can give. Their birthday is June 4th and and are 6 years old.

These pups are in Cincinnati, Ohio too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bubbles, a little Shih Tzu puppy with a fluffy coat, a playful personality, and absolutely no understanding of personal space yet. Bubbles’ mom came to us as a stray in terrible condition — severely matted, neglected, and very pregnant. Shortly after arriving in rescue, she gave birth to four puppies. Sadly, one puppy didn’t survive, but Bubbles and the remaining siblings have grown into healthy, happy puppies now looking for forever homes. Born on February 28, 2026, Bubbles is curious, playful, and into all the normal puppy things like toys, exploring, and getting distracted every five seconds. Like any puppy, he’ll need basic training including housebreaking, crate training, leash walking, and learning manners as he grows up. His future family also needs to be prepared for grooming. Shih Tzus require frequent brushing and regular grooming appointments to prevent painful matting, especially around the behind area. Puppy coats are often even more work while the adult coat comes in, so staying on top of grooming is really important for dogs like Bubbles. Bubbles is neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and microchipped—he’s all set for his next chapter. His adoption fee is $600. Apply to adopt Bubbles at: www.adoggie4you.org Bubbles is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, and along the East Coast. There is an additional $250 transport fee. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 6, 2026, 1:08 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Myles — a happy, lovable Maltipoo who’s ready to find his forever family! Born around March 12, 2025, Myles weighs 17.6 pounds and is full of personality. He came to us as part of a 29-dog seizure where, although the dogs were cared for, they didn’t get the individual attention and socialization they needed. Despite that, Myles has proven to be incredibly friendly and people-loving. He thrives on attention and is always excited to be around his humans. Myles would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, as he truly enjoys companionship and being part of daily life. Myles has also been seen by an ophthalmologist and has cataracts in one eye. He is currently on special eye drops, and we are hopeful for improvement with continued treatment. He also has a playful side—he absolutely loves toys and is always up for some fun. Whether it’s a game of toss or just carrying his favorite toy around, he knows how to enjoy life. He’s currently learning how to walk on a leash and will benefit from a patient adopter who can continue helping him build confidence and skills. With his sweet nature and eagerness to connect, Myles is sure to make a wonderful companion. Myles’ adoption fee is $400. If you’re ready to welcome this charming boy into your home, you can apply at www.adoggie4you.org . This dog is currently in Texas; however, he can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, or along the East Coast. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there… I’m Butterscotch I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve been told I’m pretty much the definition of a good dog. I’m house trained, quiet, calm, and happiest when I’m curled up in a warm lap. I have a gentle, submissive nature and an easygoing personality—I just want to love and be loved. I came into rescue as a stray, very pregnant and needing help. Not long after, I welcomed three beautiful puppies into the world and devoted myself to being the best mama I could be. Now that they’re growing up and finding their own paths, it’s finally my turn to find a family to call my own. I’m a Shih Tzu with a soft heart and a sweet soul. I settle in easily, enjoy being around people, and love feeling like part of whatever you’re doing. Whether it’s a quiet evening at home or a little ride alongside you, I’m just happy to be near my person. I do need regular grooming to keep my coat healthy and tangle-free—but I promise I’ll sit sweetly for it. I’m spayed, fully vaccinated, current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto, and 4DX negative. I’m also microchipped. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who will be your loyal little shadow, I’m right here waiting. Adoption fee: $500 Apply at: www.adoggie4you.org I’m currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Oregon, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio, Kentucky, and along the East Coast for an additional $225 transport fee (please note: transport is not available to Rhode Island or Massachusetts).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 6, 2026, 1:08 pm
