This little guy is full of charm, always up for some time in the play yard, and never says no to attention from his favorite volunteers. He’s friendly, social, and has a big personality packed into a compact body. Banjo’s story hasn’t been an easy one. After being found on the streets and fully vetted by our team, we searched for his owners for months. Just as he was about to be adopted, his previous owners came forward. Sadly, a year later, Banjo was found on the streets again, and we were called to take him back into our care. His former owners, currently without stable housing, agreed it was best that Banjo find a safe, secure forever home. Due to past food insecurity, Banjo can be food-aggressive with other dogs. He’s shown no aggression toward people and does well with small dogs, but may be a bit pushy with larger ones. With a bit of patience and structure, Banjo has all the potential to thrive. He would love to be an only dog to one person.  Banjo is now safe, healthy, and ready for a brighter future. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s ready to be truly home for good, Banjo could be your perfect match. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 19, 2025, 2:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Tyler. I came to the ranch from the valley, where I was scheduled for euthanasia in 2013. My first parents had a young child that hit me with sticks, kicked me and hurt me. One day I decided to fight back, and I bit the child, so I ended up in the slammer. I was barely a year old, so my foster mom decided to give me a chance. My foster mom loved me. She let me sleep with her, she treated me good and let me play with toys and go for walks with her. It took me about a week to trust her, but I loved her lots.  Unfortunately I had to come back to the kennels when she couldn’t foster anymore.  My kennel mates are good friends.  We play and love each other.  But I really would like to have a real family before I go to the rainbow bridge.  I have been at the rescue since 2011, they love me, but it’s not the same.  I know it’s partly my fault.  I used to bite new people.  Hey, but the good news is I only have 4 teeth, so I can only gum you.  I have been living with Pat since I lost my teethys.  She says I am too old to be in the kennels.  For the most part this is great, but I have to share her with lots of other babies.  Mommy says she is going to find me a special forever home that will be patient and give me the time I need to get to know you. Are you the special family mommy told me about?  I have been waiting for 11 years to find my special family, but mom tells me not to worry.  Someday I will get my wish.   To adopt this dog, please fill out an application at www.adoggie4you.org.  He was born around 2/5/2013 and weighs 21 pounds.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 6, 2025, 3:28 pm

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.Okay, this little boy came with his name AVIS as an owner surrender!!!  But he does not respond to the name at all.  Even when he laying on my side relaxing does he respond to his name.  He loves to lay with you and cuddle but he is very obedient when you put him down because you need some room for yourself. AVIS is a 3 1/2 year old, 15 pound Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu.  The owner swore him as a Shih Tzu but he vet determined that he is mixed with Lhasa Apso.  Truth is he is just a mixture of beauty!!  And his temperament is sooooo sweet.  He was a bit shy when I first got him and he needed a few days to adjust before he became comfortable enough to run around with the other foster dogs.  He doesn't bother them and they do not bother him although he seems to enjoy watching them play.  He came from a home with a 12 year old dog. AVIS was owner surrendered because of some major lifestyle changes and she could no longer care for him.  In the past few months he has been living in several different environments.  I bet he would just like to be normal and stable in a loving home.  AVIS only had the 1 owner since he was a baby. He walks great on a leash, no pulling and he walks at your pace.  AVIS is a very easy going guy.  He for sure needs to be groomed but if I groom him it will be more of a hack job!! If you are interested in adopting AVIS, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org       ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         August 20, 2025, 12:57 pm

Story
Meet Mr. Big Mr. Big is a (likely) purebred Lhasa Apso, about 1–2 years old. He was found dumped on Solms Road on the east side of I-35, filthy and horribly matted. His face was completely hidden under mats, even covering his eyes. Despite his condition, he appeared well-fed and clearly had been someone’s pet. After carefully cutting away the mats, we finally got to see his sweet little face. Sadly, we also discovered he has cherry eye in both eyes. This condition is common in this breed and, while correctable, is very uncomfortable for him right now. We suspect Mr. Big was purchased from a breeder and then abandoned when his owner couldn’t keep up with the regular grooming and care he needs. He is scheduled to be neutered on 9/22 and is up to date on all his vaccinations. He’s currently receiving antibiotic eye drops to see if the cherry eye improves on its own; if not, he will need surgery. Mr. Big also needs time to learn to trust again and to understand he won’t be abandoned.  He seems to prefer men. Do you have room in your heart and home to foster Mr. Big while he heals—or even to adopt him and give him the stable, loving life he deserves?
