Story
Zoey is a gorgeous 1.5 year old Lhasa Apso female pup. She has a beautiful brown gray and white coat. Zoey is sweet girl who loves to cuddle with her favorite people. She loves people of all ages and loves to cuddle. She is fine with the other dog in her foster home, but we think she would be happiest as an only dog where she can get all the attention! She is a sensitive and sweet girl who cannot wait to have her forever home in WI. Zoey is potty trained in her foster home, but her new family should be prepared for a few accidents while she learns the routine at her new home in WI. She is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and she comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition. Zoey is one of a select few of our rescues whom we believe are purebred or a popular designer blend which we adopt out at a near market rate in order to use those funds to support our program of readying additional dogs, puppies and kittens which we prepare, transport and adopt out in the northern United States. Our goal is to get as many homeless animals out of south Texas, where we have a severe pet overpopulation crisis. Her adoption fee is $1,000, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. If you’re not already familiar with our group, please feel free to visit our Group Page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity If you are serious about this pup, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com. We take payments through Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp, or we can take card numbers over the phone and process them through Square. All of these methods provide a receipt. Thank you for supporting our efforts to bring Texas dogs north to loving homes! You can read more about us at https://facebook.com/TxRescueRiders (Texas Rescue Riders). Also feel free to join our Group Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity (Texas Rescue Riders Community) where members can post directly. We cannot guarantee breed or age. We assign breed and age designations based on veterinary advice and information from the prior owner.

Story
Meet Teddy! Hello friends, my name is Teddy and I've come to you in search of my forever home. I am a senior always up for an adventure, but do not turn my nose up to a good nap! I'm only about 20 pounds. My foster parents have been working with me to learn that love and patience build trust! I do not like to be picked up, although I am working on it as I gain trust in the humans around me. But listen, I'm perfectly able to walk around and get to where I want to go on my own. I don't think I should probably live with any kiddos unless they are older and understand that I'm my own dog! Speaking of dogs... I do well with other dogs. I like to tag along on walks or run around the house with them, but at the same time, I don't care what they're doing, I am just happy living harmoniously in the same house. Cool, calm, and collected are my types of friends. I'm not really sure if I want to be friends with cats, though, as I haven't met any since I got to my foster home. I'm a super good boy, go potty outside and sleep through the night. Not a huge barker but sometimes I get excited and like to talk with friends walking down the street. You can trust me being left home alone in the house. I have free roam of the house while my foster parents are away from home, and I do a great job. Give me a chair by a window, and I am in heaven! I'll need someone who is patient with me and understands that I need a little bit of time to gain trust in you. I really connect with my foster mom the best so I think being in a home where my main caretaker is female would be ideal. It doesn’t mean I do not like males or my foster dad, I just do best with a female. I have begun showing affection by engaging on my own terms with my foster parents at my own speed, and that has been perfect for me. If I am not up for affection and you don’t read my subtle warnings, I will let you know by nipping. However, I am working on that one day at a time and have shown improvements when I get used to you. My foster parents are showing me that I can trust and love knowing no one is going to hurt me. I have gone to the groomer and vet since being with my foster family and I am a little uneasy with this process. I am not sure why I am this way, but we have found that to make me the best patient requires a chill out plan which includes medication to relax me beforehand. This helps both me and the staff trying to take care of me. With that all being said you can count on me for always making sure I see you in the window when you leave and am waiting by the door every time you return home. A good walk together with my foster family checking my wee-mail and doing zoomies in the house are activities I look forward to each day. Oh, let me tell you about car rides, I love them and watching out the car window! Most days, I enjoy spending my time taking naps or watching the world go by, looking out the window. I know basic commands, and we can bond and work on you touching me by having me "shake." I'd do best in a quiet, laid-back home with someone who has patience and invests in taking baby steps with me and work on building a bond with me. I promise it'll all be worth it! Are you looking for a cute guy like me that you can take care of while I learn you could be my new best friend? *Teddy is being fostered in the Milwaukee area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
Lulu is a lovely little girl. Shi started out very shy under the couch and now is thriving. Gives me kisses, however I think she would do best in a home with no small children only because she gets startled easily still and I want her to continue to be comfortable with her surrounding. She non shedding , so regular grooming is necessary to keep her looking cute as a button. Housetraining is going well, she so once she has a family that can continue she will be one her way to be housetrained. She just loves to chase and be chased by other pups, is very playful and loves toys. So if you would love to add her to your family please email us at helpapoochrescue@gmail.com. Her adoption fee is $750.00. She has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on her shots

Story
Say hello to beautiful Opal! This sweet girl is about 9 years old. She's a rescued puppy mill mama Bichon. Like so very many of these so-called breeder releases (i.e. no longer producing sellable puppies so no longer of any value to the business operators) she is extremely timid and unsure of life outside of a locked box. She does not trust humans - and I don't blame her one little bit. After many months in her foster home, she has made progress, but that progress is always guarded and often accompanied by a swift return to where she was before the progress (she's a one step forward, two steps back kind of gal). She watches my every move with curiosity/suspicion, lol. She likes to be near the me and the pack when I'm home but doesn't necessarily want to cuddle in with us. She's more of a "I'll be over here watching you, but you can reach over and pet me if you want," type of pup. She does get excited when I get home from work and will sometimes do zoomies in the yard with the big boys, but she doesn't want me bursting her fun bubble by trying to get too close. I have built trust with her to the point where she wants to be by me, wants me to pet her, lets me do anything I need to do with her (besides go for a walk), but she is usually still nervous during it all. Heartwarming are the times when she is truly relaxed and enjoying some love from me - those times are slowly building in frequency. Love and patience are paying off. She must have a fenced-in yard at her new home as a leash isn't an option for this sweetheart. She is going to need time and lots of patient, unconditional love and support to transition into a new life. Her ideal adopter is someone who is looking to share her/his home with an introvert :)You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about Opal on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet me today!! Story
***REQUIREMENTS - canine companion, apartments not recommended***Meet Marilyn, a bright and curious ~20 lb Bichon Frise mix. Marilyn came from an unfortunate breeding situation where she was overbred and shows the signs of her years of neglect. Despite that, she's incredibly curious and wants to know everything about everything in her new foster environment. She's quickly learning that human touch can be pretty great and is almost ready to ask for attention when she wants it. She gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home and is looking for a forever home with at least one other canine companion. Because she's not used to being alone, she does have separation anxiety and will express her unhappiness through song - as a result, apartments are not recommended. She doesn't love being in a crate, but does ok in there while foster mom is gone. She's working hard on potty training and making a lot of progress. Things she's discovered since being rescued -* Zoomies* Meal time is dance worthy* Running around in the fenced in backyard is pretty great* Sunning herself when it's nice outside* Rubbing herself against the crates is probably her favorite activity and is a nightly routine* Asking for pets results in pets, which is pretty coolTo see what else Marilyn discovers as she gets more comfortable, watch for stories, pictures and videos about her on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet Marilyn today!!Adoption fee: $500All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations.
