Meet Miss Marla. Marla is a 4 year old teddy bear mix. I believe she is part lhasa apso, and she is smart and sweet and playful. Marla had a rocky start to her life so far but she is resilient! When I first got her, she didn't know what stairs were. In three weeks she has learned to go up and down stairs, sometimes reluctantly, and she will signal that she needs to go outside by going to the door. Marla is very laid back and quiet, she is not a barker. She does have a bit of a stubborn streak, so sometimes you have to work with that to get her to do things. But she is trainable! I’m 17 lb bundle of sweet, nervous, sometimes playful personality wrapped in super soft fur. I spent the first part of my life breeding so I’m still learning to trust humans but foster mom says I’m making progress every day. I’m much more comfortable with my fellow dogs and rely on them to help me figure out what makes being a dog so great. I’d do best in a home with another dog to show me the ropes and to help me trust my humans. I’m usually pretty low energy, but I sure do love playing with the other dogs in my foster home and nothing gives me more joy than running freely around the fenced in backyard here. When I’m not playing or running around, I’m snuggled up in a soft bed napping near the rest of the household. I’m looking for a family that will give me lots of patience while I decide how I feel about human affection and learn to trust.
