My early life was very difficult—I was rescued from a hoarding situation where the dogs were neglected and living in terrible conditions. Thankfully, my life has changed, and I’m now discovering how wonderful it feels to be safe, loved, and cared for.
I’m a gentle and friendly boy who can be a little shy at first. Give me a few days, some patience, and a few tasty treats, and I’ll start to feel comfortable. Once I really trust you, I’ll happily show you my belly! I’ve lived with young children and was very gentle with them.
I’m polite with other dogs and happy to share my space, but I’m more of a people-dog than a dog’s-dog. I haven’t met cats yet. I’m low-energy, calm, and happiest relaxing in my cozy bed. I enjoy leisurely walks where I can stop and sniff—especially because I’ve lost my hearing, so my nose is how I experience the world.
I rarely bark, have no resource-guarding issues, no escape tendencies, and haven’t shown separation anxiety or aggression. I’m about 90% housetrained.
I’ve also been through a lot medically, including three surgeries between June and September 2025: total ear canal ablation, gallbladder removal, and a full-mouth dental extraction. Despite everything, I’m still a sweet, resilient boy who loves being cared for.
All I’m looking for now is a peaceful home, a comfy bed, gentle people, and someone who will love me for the rest of my life. Could that be you?

My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.

Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
