Story
We have a joke for you. What`s black and white and CUTE all over? It`s TROOPER! Trooper is a 6-year-old black-and-white pup with a killer underbite, who’s equal parts cuddle buddy and curious explorer ???? This sweet poodle-ish/Shih Tzu-ish mix loves being near his people, happily following you from room to room before settling in on a cozy dog bed (or his crate) when it’s time to relax. Trooper enjoys walks where he can sniff to his heart’s content, will bring soft toys back for another toss, and doesn’t mind car rides one bit. He’s also a good boy at the vet and groomer, and he already knows his name, comes when called indoors, and will sit politely for treats.Trooper can be timid with new people and may bark or keep his distance at first, and loud noises (like thunderstorms) might make him uneasy - who likes those skybooms anyhow? He`s working on his housebreaking (who isn`t, amaright?) so consistency and routine is key (same). He`s working on his leash manners, but with a face like that, you`re gonna wanna carry him part of the way anyhow. Trooper will thrive in a calmer home with adopters who help him feel safe and celebrate his progress along the way - frankly, we can`t wait to `read all about it` (get it?).If you’d like to take this sweet boy home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $300 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!
