Story
It' long road with this little one and he deserves a beautiful ending to his story. He was found on my back porch in this past winter storm, freezing and starving. I built him a shelter outside and fed him wet and dry food through the day to keep him going. We hunkered down together. Later I found out he had come from an abusive home and had been thrown outside during the storm to fend for himself. After about two months of lots of love, food, shelter and warmth he has come around to be a really sweet cat. He runs to you when you call his name, he does a little hop to get a pet on the head and does like to talk from time to time, especially when he wants wet food. He gives lots of hugs and loves to sit outside in the sunshine to relax. He loves to play and to run. With consistency of love, food and shelter this little guy would make the perfect addition to a warm and safe stable family.

Story
Sweet Potato lives up to his name. He is a loving sweetie. He’s shy at first, but he will still accept pets (especially under the chin rubs – he loves those) from his safe hiding spot. He pokes his head out from his favorite spot to observe what humans are up to.  Once Sweet Potato comes out of his shell, he will call out to the humans with his sweet, squeaky meow to ask for attention. He accepts head, chin, back, and (sometimes) belly rubs. Brushing time is his favorite! He’ll do a spin to help the brusher make sure all the spots of his coat gets brushed. Sweet Potato spends his days enjoying companionship, napping, and sometimes playing with select toys. He sometimes chases the elusive laser pointer, but most of the time he likes to watch it from afar. His favorite toy is the puzzle food dispenser ball. His main interest is companionship and all the chin rubs he can get! He’ll sit right next to you and keep you company. He would love a home that will give him as much love and attention that he sweetly asks for. Adoption fee: $200, includes all shots, sterilized, dewormed, deflea, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
🐾 Athena’s Biography Athena is a purebred Japanese Maine Coon, born on November 26, 2023. Unlike the very large American Maine Coons, Athena comes from a Japanese bloodline that is more compact and elegant, offering the beauty of the breed in a moderate size. She has a calm, gentle, and patient personality, especially with children. Athena enjoys peaceful environments, observing her surroundings, and showing affection softly when she feels comfortable. Her health is well-documented. She has all vaccinations up to date (Japan and USA), an official CPA pedigree, a Genetic Test Result Report, and complete import records. Athena is not spayed. She recently had a litter but sadly lost the kittens, and she has recovered very well. With her sweet nature, intelligence, and Japanese elegance, Athena is ready for a responsible home that appreciates her unique background and serene personality.

Story
Lainey is a sweet but very skittish 3 yr old who needs a quiet home, where she is ideally the only pet or one where there is one other relaxed animal. She enjoys being brushed and loved on once she warms up. She hides a lot when there is noise or other animals. She would do best in a home with older children or adults. She has never been outside and is up to date on shots. She is litter box trained. We love her and tried to explain to her that there is nothing to be afraid of and it is a safe space, but we have an older dog as well as another cat and very busy kids which makes for a home that we feel is not calm enough for her. We hate that shes so scared to come out the majority of the time so are trying to see if there is a better home out there for her. Willing to travel to find her the best possible home.

PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion.  Please note these are not pedigree animals and we have no way of attesting if any of them are hypoallergenic and as such cannot adopt to homes with allergies. ##2656199##

Story
Meet Mr. Kitty Mr. Kitty is a gentle, beautiful twelve-year-old boy whose world changed when his beloved owner recently passed away. He lived with his friend Jada, and sadly their owner had been in poor health for some time and was unable to properly care for them. After losing the only home he knew, Mr. Kitty found himself at a shelter before being rescued by Fancy Cats. Unlike his friend Jada, Mr. Kitty’s coat is in good condition, but he has still experienced the same confusing transition of losing his home and adjusting to a new environment. Through it all, he has remained a sweet and gentle soul who simply wants to feel safe and loved again. Mr. Kitty has also been declawed — a procedure that is now recognized as harmful and is outlawed in Virginia and many other states. Because of this, he especially needs the safety and comfort of a loving indoor home where he can feel protected and secure. This handsome senior boy is looking for a peaceful “retirement home” where he can relax and be cherished. He enjoys pets, affection, and quiet companionship. With his calm and loving nature, Mr. Kitty would make a wonderful, devoted companion for someone who appreciates the special bond that senior cats bring.  After everything he has been through, Mr. Kitty is simply hoping for a soft place to land and a kind person who will love him for the rest of his days. In return, he will offer gentle companionship, warmth, and a grateful heart.
