Story
Hello there! I'm Alaska, a spirited 9-year-old Maltese in search of my forever home. Despite my age, I'm a highly active and playful girl. I adore leisurely walks, relishing playtime with my toys, or coaxing my siblings into a friendly wrestle. They might not always want to play, but I can be quite persistent! I've had experience around infants and toddlers, and I'm perfectly comfortable with them. I'm also well-acquainted with both smaller and larger dogs. However, please keep in mind that I will need grooming on a regular basis to keep me looking my best. I've mastered crate training and leash etiquette, and I'm quite well-behaved during mealtime, readily sitting and staying as required. My favorite pastimes include snuggling on my mom's lap and sharing cozy nighttime naps with her. If you'd like to get to know me better, you can meet me at one of our adoption events. To get in touch, please contact my mom at nm9377@aol.com or reach out to adopt@valleydogs.org. Thank you for considering me as your future furry companion!

Story
PUPPY TIME! ** ARIZONA ONLY ** PHOENIX METRO AREA ** Lizzy is a maltipoo, approximately 8 months old (as of August 1) and she's just a baby! She's about 8 pounds and has a little more growing to do. Lizzy is a white soft and fluffy bundle of love and energy. She LOVES to play with other dogs, so we'd like another dog in the home for her (you will too). Potty training is underway in her foster home, and she's improving each day; she should easily be housebroken very soon. She's a smart little girl! This precious baby was abandoned and tied in place at the Humane Society because she was sick. While it's sad to abandon a dog, that was perhaps the best place to leave her as she did get the immediate vet treatment she needed. Lizzy tested positive for parvo and without treatment, she would have died. After dedicated treatment, she is now a fully-recovered rambunctious puppy, full of life and fun and happiness. Lizzy is now appropriately vaccinated so she won't be susceptible to puppy viruses again. She is also spayed and microchipped -- ready to find her forever family. Her new home should have a fun yard where she can play with her doggy sibling(s) (some soft surface such as grass or turf is best). Any children in her new home should be at least 10 years old and very kind in nature, as well as exceptionally responsible and respectful. We can set up a meet & greet upon approved application. Please email to request one. Lizzy will go home with her collar, ID tag, harness, and leash.

Story
Sam is a rescue dog. He was found in Sedona. They sent him to Phoenix because of a larger adoption pool. He is scared of loud noises. It was so loud there that he was shaking. One look in his eyes and I took him home. He has snapped at me and a few times drew blood in the first while I had him. He only weighs 8# so his mouth is his only weapon. He does warn before. I have not had a problem for a few years. If he warns with a grrrr I distract him with a you’re fine and a toy. He is a grumpy old man. He is about 12 now. He sleeps a lot but plays and a few times a day he gets the zoomies he comes running to me, I say Woof and he goes through every room then sneaks up on me. I say Woof again and off he goes, then it’s nap time. He does not like the groomers. I just found one who won him over. She is a mobile groomer. When the shaver turns on he is so scared. She worked with. Him for a half hour to get his trust. Rehomeing him is so hard but I am being moved to a nursing home in MN.

Story
Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogIf you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Hi! My name is Tia Maria, and I am a long legged beautiful, Morkie who was born 5/22/22, and I weigh 15 pounds. I need a secure yard and a sibling or two my size  is a requirement. I love, love to play but I also love my favorite spot on the couch to take a nap. I will need an experienced adopter and no children in my home; grandkids that visit is fine as long as they are older. If you have been waiting for a little Morkie, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Tia Maria 121722-08September 22, 2023, 7:34 pm
