This friend has just arrived to us as a stray. When animals are found as strays, our staff will search for an owner. If no one comes to reclaim the pet, we will begin looking for a new home. Unfortunately, we rarely have a background on stray animals. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with other animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Lady likes the outdoors and to go for walks. She likes small dogs her own size or a medium size. She fears large dogs with whom she is unfamiliar. She likes to explore when outside by herself and is unaware of danger, so she needs to be leased. She used to have a large, fenced-in backyard until we moved so she has been sad that she cannot go outside by herself. However, I allow her to sit on her trampoline (while leased) and enjoy the fresh air. I am a disabled veteran and unable to walk Lady outside within a reasonable distance without a walker. Her back must not be placed in a curved position. Lady plays with the three Yorkies in the neighborhood and with my daughter's Bichon/Maltese. They will play for a long time, rest, and then start all over again. She has toys but does not like the toys that squeak. Lady loves tummy rubs and to have her body scratched. Groomers say she is very good when she goes to the groomer.

Sebastian is a 4 yr old moxie who’s perfect around infants to adults. He’s in love with everyone he meets and will do anything you ask of him. He will sleep and cuddle right by your side and also give you space when needed. He’s potty trained and will tell you if he needs to go out. He was born and raised around our newborn which made him a perfect dog to have around babies and kids. He would even let kids pull his ears and be rough with him without ever reacting with violence.

Nigel is being fostered in PA. Nigel is a sweet little boy! He loves playing(chewing) toys. 😂 He loves being outside and especially loves walks! He loves to snuggle next to you on the sofa. He is dog and cat friendly. He likes to chase my cats, but he is actually playing with them. He gets very excited when it's time to eat and will stand up on his hind legs and beg. He is very active for 10 years old. He does have impaired vision but gets around very well. Nigel is on drops for dry eye and may need sedation before grooming. He will have a dental prior to adoption. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Jovie Female Maltese/Poodle Mix 7 years old 7 pounds Health issues: Diabetic (managed) Good with dogs Unknown with cats Calm, gentle, older children only Jovie is an adorable, gentle girl who was used for breeding for 7 years before she was surrendered to Finding Shelter because she was no longer productive. Jovie was shy, scared, not feeling well (she was diagnosed and treated for diabetes), and yet she still found the courage to adapt to life indoors with new people. Jovie is incredibly sweet, her diabetes is controlled with daily insulin, she is happy and loves to cuddle on dog beds, and she seeks human attention now. We know Jovie has so much love to give to an experienced family who will provide the best care while allowing her to continue to blossom. Are you the one?
