✨Meet Cowboy!✨ Cowboy came to us as an owner surrender after his previous family gave up his parents reporting they were moving out of the country immediately. After taking in his mom and dad, and shaving down these poor matted dogs, we found that the female dog had just recently had puppies and was actively producing a lot of milk. We immediately contacted the family, because it was clear she should not have been separated from the puppies based on her current state. We found out in the end, that the family had bred these two dogs, and tried keep all the puppies- Cowboy being one of them. They made up the story about them moving, so that they could surrender the adults to the shelter. All of our animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccinations, and any other necessary medical care. After adoption, dogs need time to adjust to their new homes and thrive with families who can provide exercise, enrichment, positive reinforcement training, and socialization. Story

Wally is a small 14 yr old mix with Maltese. We adopted him 6 years ago from a Philadelphia rescue; they found him on the street and had been harmed on the street and the vet removed his left eye prior to our adoption. Wally was housetrained when we got him and lived with a cat well. Wally has been a part of various private dog parks and does well with other small to medium sized dogs, & has had good experiences with larger dogs, if they are not triggered by his smallness. He is little and sturdy, loves people and enjoys being held and fetch with his toys; he naviagtes well with his one eye. He enjoys car rides and loves riding in his skybox car seat. He does well when he goes to friends for dogsitting and gets attached quickly, I unfortuantely, spent the last year and a half going through many treatments and surgeries for cancer and currently in the process of moving; these factors are the precipitants I am no longer able to provide the same degree of care he does well with.
