These boys have been nothing but sweet from the moment we met them. They settled quickly into their foster home and have been enjoying simple pleasures like sunny days outside, cozy dog beds, the company of their older doggy pals, and even leisurely walks in their stroller.As distinguished senior gentlemen, Gatsby and Gipper do best in a calm, relaxed environment and seem to enjoy the company of other easygoing dogs. Gatsby occasionally instigates short play sessions with his friends, while Gipper is more of a laid-back couch potato who prefers to take it easy.These adorable old men have wonderful manners and don’t ask for much—just comfort, companionship, and a family to love them through their golden years. Coconut(Coco)is an 8yo Maltese weighing 8lbs that we rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. Coco is learning what it means to live in a home - steps, new noises, doors, touch, TV’s, leashes etc. Coco had to have her remaining teeth removed due to decay but has no trouble eating soft food. She has a great appetite. She goes potty outside, walks around the neighborhood on a leash, enjoys good soft food and exploring the yard. She is fascinated with all the birds and squirrels. She loves liverwurst, chicken and beef hot dogs so she will come and take from my hand and if the refrigerator door opens, she runs over just in check if it’s something for her. She is good in the crate overnight and I have left her for 3-4 hours during the day with no problem. She knows “go potty”. Her crate has also been dry overnight. She will need another calm dog in the home to show her the ropes and build her confidence. I do have a fenced yard and that would be preferred as she loves it. But if no fence, she will need to be on a leash to be safe. Coconut and Cashmere could be adopted together if anyone is interested in two small dogs as very bonded.Mill dogs make the best pets ever who will bond with you forever. Her fur is growing in as she came in shaved. The brown is from licking with a mouth full of bacteria from bad teeth and with good food and regular grooming, her looks will blossom. Coconut is now spayed, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250.00. Lady’s a 7yo 10lb Maltese mix. She’s dog selective, cat and kid 13+ friendly. She’s housebroken if kept on a schedule but will wear a diaper and use pee pads and crate trained. She’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. She’s agile, smart, likes squeaky toys, people and going for walks but will bark at people, dogs and noises. She is easy startled so best to sleep in a dog bed on the floor so not to accidentally wake her while sleeping. Lady’s foster requires a calm home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, be an only dog, brushed/groomed often to prevent matting along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Lady as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Lady takes medication for a seizure disorder and for her eyes.
