Story
Lady’s a 7yo 10lb Maltese mix. She’s dog selective, cat and kid 13+ friendly. She’s housebroken if kept on a schedule but will wear a diaper and use pee pads and crate trained. She’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. She’s agile, smart, likes squeaky toys, people and going for walks but will bark at people, dogs and noises. She is easy startled so best to sleep in a dog bed on the floor so not to accidentally wake her while sleeping. Lady’s foster requires a calm home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, be an only dog, brushed/groomed often to prevent matting along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Lady as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Lady takes medication for a seizure disorder and for her eyes. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Story
Hello, my name is: MiaApprox. DOB: 01/24/2023Weight: 9.9 lbsSex/breed: Spayed female Maltese/Poodle mixRescued from: Owner surrenderMeet Mia, a professional people greeter, neighborhood watch captain, and certified lap dog! This sweet girl is happiest when she’s with her humans, spending all day in your lap if you let her. She loves giving kisses and will even try to leap straight into your arms for a cuddle. She enjoys walks, is curious about the world around her, and can often be found keeping an eye on everything happening outside the window.Don’t let her cuddly side fool you—Mia is also an active, energetic girl who loves to play and stay on the move! She’s still working on her house training and learning her manners, including which surfaces are appropriate for lounging (she’s currently made a strong case that the kitchen table is prime real estate). She’s a fun, spirited girl who will keep you smiling as she continues to learn.Mia has been selective about her canine friends, so she’d do best as the one-and-only dog in her forever home, though she’s perfectly happy to hang out around other dogs. Dog-savvy cats could make good roommates. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, slightly mischievous companion who will keep your lap warm and your neighborhood under surveillance, Mia just might be your girl! All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Meet Cherish. This little 8 lb nugget is a 12 week old maltipoo who could not be cuter. She is so smart and doing so great in her foster home! She is playful, and fun and in search of her forever home. She was born with eye defects so she has had her eyes removed. But that does not stop her from having the time of her life. She is a baby who is so smart and doing well with training. She already can navigate around the foster home since she never could see this is no different for her.. ✨Meet Ivory!✨ Ivory is a Maltese who came into us as a surrender from a commercial breeding facility (aka Puppy Mill) in Lancaster County. Ivory had a very difficult life before coming to us, being used as a mill mama her entire life. She is shut down at this time but is slowly starting to give us her trust. We are confident she will make a wonderful family member for a very lucky family, who understands her past and gives her the time she needs to trust them and her new surroundings. Ivory loves other animals, and will thrive in a home with at least one other dog. Adopting a puppy mill survivor is life-changing—for you and them. For these dogs, everything is new and often overwhelming: people, houses, stairs, leashes, food bowls, collars, toys, TVs, ovens, doorways, pavement…the list goes on. They need adopters who can move slowly, be patient, keep expectations reasonable, and provide the understanding and tools they need to grow into happy, confident companions. Patience, positive reinforcement, and understanding are key! We promise there is nothing that compares to gaining the love and trust of a mill mama, but it requires intentional effort and commitment from their new family. With the right guidance, puppy mill survivors can blossom into well-socialized, joyful dog- so our goal is always to ensure every adopter is fully prepared to give them the life and environment they need to truly thrive! If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾 Angel’s Retreat www.angelsretreat.org West Chester, PA PA Kennel License 17335
