Story
Bandit is our five year-old Shih Tzu Maltese mix. He’s super friendly, lovable, and full of energy. He was born blind in one eye and with a deformed left front leg. We have learned he also has intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) limiting the use of his hind legs. He can get around on his own without any problem, but he cannot climb stairs or furniture. He will get around the house and yard, especially when there is a new friend to meet. He takes Gabapentin on a daily basis. Bandit has been more aggressive lately with our other dogs, and for that reason, we are no longer able to care for him. Ideally, we’d like to place Bandit in a home where he can exercise, get some playtime, and hopefully find a permanent home ready for his affection.

Story
Hi . . . My name is Daisy and I am a sweet senior gal who is 10 years old.  I’m a tiny Maltese/Poodle blend girl weighing just 7 lbs. I am vision impaired, but I don’t let that stop me from exploring .  I truly appreciate my freedom, affection and care and would love to be the princess in my forever home. Favorite Things: Daisy LOVES her food and loves soaking up attention.  Toys and playing are not really her thing, but exploring her surroundings is high on her list of favorite things. She also loves being around her person and will sit next to them as much as possible (and extra close in bed at night). Training & Manners:  Daisy is working on her house training and will need to be taken outside frequently.  Due to her vision, she doesn’t do well on a leash so will need more practice with leash walking.  She has good basic manners and is highly food motivated.  She is verbal when she wants food but is otherwise quiet. Health and Care: Daisy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is on daily drops for dry eyes and takes her monthly preventatives for fleas and heartworm.  She will likely require professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to keep her looking and feeling her best. Other Animals:  Daisy has experience with other small dogs and cats.  Children: This gentle, curious gal would do best in a home with respectful teens.    Ideal Home: Daisy would do well in an apartment, condo or single-family home.  Her “dream” home would be a house without steps (although she is tiny enough to carry) and no pool (for safety reasons with her vision impairment).  A fenced yard would keep her safe and give her room for her adventurous explorations. She has free rein of her foster home and can be left for several hours without issues. She sleeps in the “people bed” at night and is happy to cozy up to her person. Overall: Daisy is a great and loyal companion asking only for food, love and attention. Could Daisy be the one for you? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $200.   ##2667454##

Story
Hi, I’m Winter! I'm a 4-year-old Maltese-ShihTzu blend who weighs 16 lbs. I may have been named for my snow-white fur, but in terms of personality, I have a warm heart and will brighten your days with my sweet and loving personality and big, communicative eyes.  Favorite Things: Winter loves scritches! When he has a itch on his side, he will look to you with his expressive eyes and tilt his head towards what he wants, asking for help to get that itch for him. So a permanent itch scratcher is a must! He also loves running around and under the bed with his foster brother. Winter's special super power is he does all of this with only 3 legs. When it comes to toys, he usually picks the crinkle toys. He enjoys sitting in the backyard but doesn't need to be out there for a long time. Training & Manners: Winter is a good boy! He is housetrained if let out frequently. Winter walks well on a leash and enjoys going for walks. He enjoys sleeping next to his foster mom at night or cuddling on the couch. He is generally a chill little who has good basic manners.  Health & Care: Winter is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. He only has three legs, but that doesn't slow him down at all. Other Animals: Winter has met other small dogs and has done great. He adores zoomies with his foster brother. He has not been tested around cats and his foster thinks he'd be okay with them.   Children: Winter has lived with young children and he seems to enjoy kids, as long as they are older and are able to read his cues about when he doesn't want to be picked up. Ideal Home: Winter would do well in most any type of home, as long as he has a very securely fenced yard and few or no stairs. He has a history of being a bit of a hound-ini and an escape artist, so an extremely securely fenced yard is essential.  Overall: Has playful Winter's hopeful personality warmed your heart? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption or foster application. If it seems like a good match, our team will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $350. ##2674746##

Story
My name is COOKIE and I am a 5 year old, spayed female Bichon/Shih-Tzu mix. I need to be adopted with my best friend GUS. I am a 14 pound bundle of personality and I love being the center of attention. If there is a spotlight, I will find it. I`ll make you laugh, keep things interesting and remind you every day not to take life too seriously. I am really healthy, up to date with all my vaccines and tests and am on heartworm/flea tick prevention. I just had a dental and my teeth are pearly white. I didnt have any extractions either. I am completely potty trained, love playing with other dogs and I`m always ready for some fun. I like my walks, I love my people and I really like it when everyone is paying attention to me, as they should! Gus and I must have a totally above ground secure fenced yard because we love to play, run, and play some more. And Gus? He`s my guy, my calm, my shadow-within-a-shadow, and my BFF. Together, Gus and I are a package deal. We came into rescue together and have been side by side ever since. Gus brings the snuggles and I bring the sass, and somehow it just works perfectly. We are looking for a home filled with lots of love, patience, and room for two best friends who promise to give you everything in return. We are both learning more about the world and could use a little extra socialization, but with love and patience, well blossom. So, what do you think? Do you have room on your couch, and in your heart, for both of us? We are ready to love you forever. If you wish to be considered for both Cookie and Gus, you are welcome to start the process by filling out an Adoption Application which can be found on our website at www.coastalpoodlerescue.org . On the homepage, click on `Adopt Now` on the right hand side to access the online application. Be sure to answer EVERY question on the application. If a question does not apply to you, enter N/A. Story
Hi, I`m GUS, I am a 6-year-old, 27-pound, neutered Cavachon mix, Bichon and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I am really healthy, up to date with all my vaccines and tests and am on heartworm/flea tick prevention. I just had a dental and my teeth are pearly white. I didn`t have any extractions either. My foster parents say that I am sweet, affectionate and devoted. I am also a cuddle expert, and I take my job seriously. I`ll follow you from room to room, keep you company on the couch and make sure you never feel alone. I love to be by your side all the time. If you move, I move. If you sit, I sit, preferably touching you. My foster mom calls me a Stage 5 Clinger, but I think I`m really good at loving my person. I am potty trained and I try really hard to be a good boy, though sometimes when I`m left alone, I get a little unsure and might mark, so I wear a belly band just in case. I walk okay on a leash and would benefit from more socialization. The most important thing you should know about me is that I have a best, forever friend and I must be with Cookie. We come as a bonded pair. We`re looking for someone who is home a lot and doesn`t leave us for long periods of time. We must have a totally above ground secure fenced yard because we love to play, run, and play some more. If you wish to be considered for both Cookie and Gus, you are welcome to start the process by filling out an Adoption Application which can be found on our website at www.coastalpoodlerescue.org . Story
Levi is a special needs boy AND WANTS TO BE WITH YOU ALL THE TIME! He is a sweetheart with a heart full of love for his person and a great personality. He is a talker and strives hard to communicate. Though he does well with other dogs, he would do best as the only dog in the home and with someone who is retired or works from home and does not get much company. He is not socialized with people and needs slow introduction. He does not like change or strangers, so routine is a must! Because he is special needs, his mind works just a little bit slower before he grasps a new concept or command but he is eager to please and very trainable. Levi does well for himself, but does have a weak back leg that sometimes prevents him from jumping on your lap or furniture. It is not a health issue and does not cause any pain. Levi has a very thick undercoat and will require experienced, professional grooming services every 2 months. He is a 3 year old Bichon Frise, approximately 20 pounds, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE… you must be able to honor a lifetime commitment to Levi as a family member and spoil him with an exceptionally wonderful life. Adoption fee is $350. Request an adoption application via email. They are NOT online Sorry, no small children Must live in Brevard County or within a 45 minute drive Home checks are required Thank you for your interest in our dogs!
